"Highly recommend this place. They are honest! They are fair! I have gone to them for at least 10 years and will continue to do so. They have gone the extra mile for me several times. As in way beyond what I would have ever expected. They tell it like it is. Like right now I have beyond repair engine in 13 year old heavy mileage car. Mechanic was very careful to tell me my options with risks involved depending on my choice. You can’t go wrong choosing this place. I brought my car in on Friday and by mid morning Monday he had diagnosed the problem. If I had chosen to get it repaired, I would have been put on the schedule. First come ,first serve, which is fair. And I want fair."

"I really like this guy. I had a check engine light say my crank shaft sensor was bad. He was going to replace it, but then my light went off for a few days before he could get to it. We talked about what changed, he suggested to wait to see if it is still a problem rather than say it had to be fixed and drum up more work. I feel like he is mechanic that can be trusted."

"Getting an old car fixed is never a good experience. The best you can hope for is a competent mechanic who is good at diagnosis, timely communications (including delivering bad news), and keeping costs down. Peterson did all three well enough that I'll be taking challenging jobs to them in the future."

"I needed an oil change for my car. I usually go to Jiffy Lube, but Peterson Automotive is much closer to my house so I thought I'd give them a shot. They have a building in the front that seems to only handle inspections and emissions, and then they have the building in the back where actual maintenance is done to vehicles. I've never been here before so I drove to the back building where I found the mechanic and his assistant working on a truck. I sat behind the truck for about 10 minutes while the mechanic and the assistant took turns giving me confused glances. Eventually the mechanic made eye contact me and threw his hands in the air as if to say, "what are you doing here?" I rolled down the window and asked him if this was the right place for an oil change to which he gruffly responded, "We don't have time for that today." I left without getting my oil changed. It seems like they want their customers to make an appointment via phone call or their website, and that's fair enough. However, there's no indication on the signage out front that an appointment would be necessary, and I've not had to make an appointment at any other mechanic that I've been to so I wasn't prepared for this situation. I'm disappointed because the reviews for the shop are generally good, and I think it's good to support smaller/local business such as this, but I left feeling like I wasted their time. If they expect me to make an appointment then that's fine, but I would rather have that communicated to me than to receive a cold response to a simple question. Maybe this is the best mechanic in the state of Utah, but I'll probably stick to Jiffy Lube from here on out."

"My fuel pump died in my Chrysler Town and Country and a friend recommended Peterson Automotive. They did great work and got it done quickly. It’s been driving perfectly for months and is even getting better gas mileage with the new pump. Fair prices and great work."
