Reviews
"I met with Chao, Dr Yu’s apprentice. He seemed very competent and kind. As a westerner I was definitely experiencing some mild culture shock with the environment and exam. Chao was very detailed in his questions, and his mannerisms were very traditional for someone from China, though they were a bit of a jolt for me sometimes. As a previous reviewer said, the clinic does have a lot of herb boxes littered around. It’s not your traditional western day spa. I went there in July at 9 am so the temperature was pleasant for me, but they don’t have air conditioning so be aware of that. I don’t think they have centralized heat either. I gave Chao 4 stars because in one session he helped relieve some of my pain. I’ll be going back and I’ll update my review if I see that subsequent treatments prove exceptional. Update: I saw Chao for some mental health problems and some physical pain. In one session he helped me accomplish my goal so powerfully I didn’t need a second. I would definitely recommend."
"I was diagnosed with Bells palsy and I went to Mr. Zhao at China Acupuncture for acupuncture. He asked questions patiently and thoroughly in our first visit and I was consulted in diet and everyday activities. I had 4 -5 sessions with him and was healed after 3 weeks. I am grateful for the service he performed and would go back to him for acupuncture need. Thanks Mr. Zhao."
"I value and use the healing art of acupuncture but I will never recommend this location ever. Boxes stacked up and partitioned from sight as best they could be with room dividers; unopened mail piled high on top of cardboard covering garbage can; tan suede-like sofa filthy from years of use; no central heat just space heaters offered when I said I was cold; when I asked for a blanket a bath towel was laid across my exposed lower half; the bathroom sink and toilet were BLACK from lack of cleaning and the dirty bathtub was used as a storage area; I shared my treatment room with two VERY dirty windows, a hedge trimmer box and 1/2 of the room being full of storage-shed items covered with sheets. I NEVER SAW THE MOTHER WHO WAS LICENSED only her son..he explained that he had studied under her tutelage but she had fallen and hurt her hand and was not there. In talking with another lady who had gone there she said she had never seen his mom in all the times she had been there, and the interior of the house has looked like that for years. I paid my bill of $180.00 and cannot bring myself to ever return to those conditions again."
"Not your typical clinic, looks can be deceiving. That being said, I’ve had a life-changing experience at China Acupuncture Clinic. I have always wanted to try acupuncture, though leery on how to find a good one. How does one go about finding an acupuncturist that is knowledgeable and experienced in their field? I would pass by China Acupuncture Clinic often on my way to work and made the decision to start my journey and give acupuncture a try! I called the clinic and talked with a gentleman named Chao, who turns out to be the apprentice, translator and son of Dr. Ming De Yu, the acupuncturist. I asked if they could help me. Chao explained Dr. Yu was trained in China, has 25 + years’ experience, and has helped many people through acupuncture. I made my first appointment that included the initial consultation and an acupuncture session. I was so excited for my first session, I didn’t know what to expect. I went into this with an open mind and to give it an honest try. My biggest health concern I have is Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism. I am always fatigued, with the brain fog, feeling agitated and snappy all the time, along with constant headaches. When I arrived at the clinic for my first appointment I parked in front of an old house, I knew this place I have past many times before. As I walked through the front door, it was as if I walked into another country. The clinic is cluttered with Chinese herbs and décor not bad, just different…interesting. I was greeted by Chao and given paperwork to fill out and a sheet circling my symptoms. Dr. Yu came out and looked at my symptom sheet and started her exam. Dr. Yu speaks little English and spoke in her language most of the time while Chao translated. She looked at both my eyes and looked at my tongue and I was amazed at what she said about my current health without me telling her. With Chinese medicine, they deal with the Yin and Yang, the balance of life. Dr. Yu told me my liver and kidneys were not working properly…too much Yin (I think). Now this was new to me, I never had issues with my liver or kidneys up to this point, I was just tired all the time. (I had blood work done 2 weeks later through my work that confirmed her findings!) Now my journey had started on a 12-session treatment plan to get me feeling better by treating the root of the problem. So far, I have done 2, 12-week sessions. The second 12-week session, Chinese herbs were introduced. At the start of each session Chao greets you, gets your vitals and asks how you are feeling. You stay fully dressed so wear comfortable clothes. 6 or so needles are place in different areas on the body, some I don’t feel, some feel like a little stick. The session is about an hour long and you lay on a medical table (reminds me of massage tables). This is now my time to relax (and nap). With my headaches, they are gone almost instantly at the start of the session if not by the end of the session without pain pills! To me that is proof acupuncture works. I am absolutely amazed how I feel at the end of each session. Now acupuncture has not cured me of Hashimoto’s, but how I feel overall is so much better. I can feel my body getting stronger and I do not have constant headaches anymore. I still have my bad days, but those are so few and far between now. I am now at the point where I go in for a session as needed. I highly recommend acupuncture as an alternative medicine choice. If your traditional medical treatment is not working to your satisfaction, give China Acupuncture Clinic a try."
"Dr. Ming Dee Yu is the real deal! I have been to many acupuncturist and have never found someone as knowledgeable or nice as her. They have helped me fight my migraines and kept them at bay I highly recommend this place it might not look like much, but with her experience she know s what to do to make you feel like a million bucks. I have been battling my migraines since I was 15 yrs. old and with the help of her she has helped me keep the at bay ! Thank you Thank you I am very glad to have found this place and give her 2 thumbs up !"
