About the Business
Housing Solutions-Southwest is a non-profit organization located at 295 Girard Street in Durango, Colorado, United States. Since 1981, we have been providing help, housing, and hope to our community. Our mission is to create new construction of affordable housing for seniors, families, and persons with disabilities, including rental apartments and single-family homes. We work with development partners, funders, and local partners to make affordable housing a reality.
Our programs include a rental assistance voucher program, transitional living programs, emergency homeless prevention, and housing counseling for qualifying individuals or families. We offer services such as credit counseling, weatherization services, and housing rehabilitation, which may be provided at no cost or through a low-interest loan depending on income.
As a HUD Housing Counseling Agency in Southwest Colorado, we specialize in Reverse Mortgage, Rental Housing, and Preventing and/or ending Homelessness. We partner with the Colorado Division of Housing to administer Housing Choice Vouchers that help hundreds of local households afford rent each year.

We also help survivors obtain and maintain housing after victimization impacts their housing stability. Our goal is to create housing developments that are long-term assets to the community and help families find personal and financial stability.
We work with local partners, state, and federal agencies to provide support to those facing a loss of housing. Appointments are available with Spanish-speaking counselors. Housing Solutions is dedicated to securing and maintaining affordable housing options for individuals and families in Southwest Colorado. "Wrongful deaths are the result of willfil neglect and bullying. Two deaths in less 4 months. Bullies from Purple Cliffs terrorize the vulnerable. The Executive Director does nothing! She is hiding; and doesn't return phone calls. David in 202 died after the elevator was out for days and Cory from Chattanooga witnessed plotting and saw the threat carried out against a target.
