"I am beyond disappointed in my decision to rent here. When Larrissa was here it was much better, but since she left last year it has been a downward spiral of mismanagement and incompetence. This complex feels like the training ground for their young, inexperienced, and unprofessional staff when they get promoted to manager. Since private security has become nonexistent in the last year you will regularly see the crackheads from Colfax wandering the complex and parking areas, peering into cars. I know several people that have had their cars broken into in the last several months. I put a camera in my car to help prevent theft. But it hasn’t stopped the vandalism to my vehicle. My passenger mirror was knocked off my car, and multiple times someone tried to pull my license plate off. In the last month our mailboxes have been broken into twice, and nothing was done other than changing the lock. They didn’t even notify the tenants. I keep being told that security patrols nightly. So I set up a timelapse camera in my living room window for a week and did not see security on that footage once. The old manager wasn’t much better at her job, but at least she was nice and seemed like she cared. Trevor is rude and has no idea what he is doing. I have no CLUE how Greystar thought this was a competent person to manage one of their assets. One of the first emails Trevor sent he came out all guns a’blazin telling us that dumping there was prohibited, and they would be investigating and fining those responsible. Since construction was going on most of last year here, maybe some of the people dumping were new here and hadn’t received the previous emails about those dumpsters. Maybe a better way to phrase that would be to say something like  “just a reminder.blah blah”. Trevor’s emails and attitude are as if we are children, and he needs to reprimand us. I used to see the old manager walking the property daily, I haven’t seen Trevor do this once, my guess is because so many people in this complex hate him, he is probably terrified to leave the safety of the office. Since Trevor has taken over we will get bombarded with emails some days. They are SO confusing and unclear he must send several follow up emails, which are equally unclear. I have asked for clarification on numerous emails he has sent and have never received an answer. If you ask Trevor more than 1 question in an email he will ignore the ones he can’t answer, I have had to ask him the same questions SEVERAL times before I get anything that resembles an answer. And usually he still doesn’t answer my questions. If you catch him in one of his many lies, he will just stop responding to you all together. The office was unable to keep accurate parking records and kept renting spots to new people that were already rented.  Since they can’t keep accurate records in the office they have instituted the use of a mobile parking app that we must pay to use. $10 a month for an app WE don’t need, so the office can do their job. Why are the tenants being penalized for the management’s incompetence? Now any guests that visit must use this app and pay a daily parking fee. The cost was originally $5 a day, they have reduced that to $3. The email Trevor sent said that he “hopes this will prove beneficial”… What will be beneficial is not charging our guests a fee to visit friends and family! When I started renting here I was told that if I have a spot in the garage I can give my pass to my house sitter when I go out of town and they can use that spot. Now with the new system that is not allowed, I either have to compensate my house sitter for parking, or they have to park out on Pierce Street and walk alllllll the way to my unit, which is not a short walk. I travel a lot for work, so this is a huge problem for me."

"I have lived here for 2 years and just renewed my lease in December. I chose to live here because of the great location and competitive rent. The apartment complex is a smaller community tucked in at the end of a cul de sac and gives the impression you are living in the mountains. The wood burning fireplace was also a huge draw for me, Sloans Lake are old school Colorado living and I love it. Yes, the complex is just few blocks off of West Colfax and from time to time some of the issues with living in an urban area arise. Simple measures such as removing all items from view in your car will help alleviate the temptation to break out a window. I commute daily by bike to downtown which is a quick 20 minute ride. Everything that the Highlands, LoHi, Sloans Lake area have to offer are easily accessed by bike from the complex. The pool was remodeled last year and is very nice to hang out in the summer, the pool scene is very friendly and a great way to meet and hang out with your neighbors. The maintenance crew are top notch and always respond quickly to any maintenance issues that I have had, most of the time they respond the same day. As for management there seems to have been quite a lot of turnover lately and makes things a little inconsistent with who you are dealing with. An implementation of an annoying and cumbersome parking system and a few other changes by the current regime has not been optimal in my opinion, but does not change the fact that I enjoy living here. Minimal rent increases when renewing, great location, reasonable rent and the small mountain town vibe of complex grounds makes this place a great place to live. See ya at the pool this summer."

"GREAT STAFF ALERT!!!! I wanted to take a moment and give kudos to Trevor (Community Manger) and Marco (Service Manager). Trevor and his onsite team are an absolute joy to work with! They truly care about each of their residents and the Sloan's Lake Apartment Community! They handle each resident interaction with the utmost care and professionalism. The community is undergoing many upgrades and they constantly strive to make the necessary improvements to make this a wonderful community to call home! Great job Trevor and Marco!"

"When most are looking for a rental property they pay close attention to size of apartment and the amenities on site. However one of the most important things about a rental property is the staff on site from Management to Leasing agents to Maintenance. Trevor is one of the best Property Managers in the area and his staff has the same drive and dedication as he does. Sloan Lake's staff from top to bottom is top notch and will make your life easier then most other area rental properties."

"I’ve had the pleasure of calling this property home for the past 8 months and I can say what has made my stay fantastic is office girl named Erika. She’s such a delight to speak to, handles any issues I may have with professionalism and punctuality. I’ve seen her help out the Spanish speaking tenants as well with the same exuberance as anyone else. Bilingual staff are invaluable in our day and age and she goes above and beyond. The new property manager Trevor shows the same work ethic and I will continue to call this place home as long as I can."
