"The River Inn is not open for business, which is very sad. One of the owners gave us a walking tour of the installations, while telling me about the history involved with it, and about their legal troubles that are costing the current owners plenty, and holding up their ability to restore the site, and to reopen for business... I think this place as an active business would be a economic boone to the Reno area, and of enjoyment to the many people that would enjoy it... Though the original buildings are long gone, this property holds an important part of the Reno Truckee Meadows history within it's spirit, and it's original founder was a Reno pioneer, Laughton or Lawton, as I've seen it spelled two ways, and the hotsprings still steam and flow... The current buildings on site have a history of their own, not without mishaps or a troubled legend that they may be cursed with, if you believe in paranormal activities..."
