To preface this review - I’ve struggled with too many mechanics who do patchwork jobs, tell me I need more work done than is necessary, and charge me 3x more than they do a man (this has happened multiple times, which is why I feel that a good, honest mechanic is extremely rare and hard to find). The owner of Champ’s fit me in, diagnosed my car, had parts delivered and my car fixed - all in the same day. He didn’t try to prematurely upsell me on anything (like nearly all others do, including big box stores!). He delivered quality work at a surprisingly affordable price (although I wouldn’t be surprised if he raises his rates judging by how busy he is - I hope he does, he’s worth it). I was also impressed to see that he was working on several Amazon vehicles, and nearby local businesses were working with him too, which I feel speaks to the capability, versatility, and reliability of his work. At the same time, people in the neighborhood were walking by, waving and addressing him by name. It feels like he’s the neighborhood mechanic and is friends with everyone. He’s just a genuinely nice person. Also notable: He has several certifications, which made me feel comfortable knowing he was trustworthy, and again I’m surprised he doesn’t charge more with that level of training and expertise. It’s been several months now and my car is still running great! All of this has me convinced that I’ve found the best mechanic in Tucson. If you’re looking for the most trustworthy, honest, reliable mechanic in the city - you can end your search. You’ve just found him."
