"Delta Dental of Idaho used to be easy to work with and get payments for services however I can NOT say that anymore! They have a new policy in place where THEY decide which services are deemed necessary. The burden this puts on the doctor patient relationship is unacceptable. Our office does not do unnecessary treatment and the conversations we have been forced to have with them is a strain on the practice. For goodness sakes we are only talking about a $1,000 to $1,500 yearly benefit. Give your patients the benefit they deserve and pay for!"

"**Response to Response** Key words here are "plan design". Delta Dental in this response is trying to off load responsibility to my employer. As to suggest it was they who designed the plan. 47% of the adults over 30 have some form of periodontal disease and can benefit from periodontal maintenance - more importantly if dirt bag insurers made this part of the covered cleaners then maybe there would be less disease in the first place but no! They want to hide these facts to increase profits at the determinate of patients. They should not even offer plans that don't have this coverage as part of basic care. If you have another choice take it! They play games with how they name the services so you always pay more than you expect for even the most basic cleanings. Just another dirt bag insurance company trying to avoid paying for whatever they can. Not interested in your long term dental health!"

"Angie denied the medically necessary claim for our daughter. They spent over 1.5 YEARS "reviewing" our claim. Our orthodontist provided everything they asked for. We were professional and we worked with both the provider and Delta Dental to provide everything. Their scam is this: they keep stalling and asking for more and more "proof" until you either give up or they ask for things that are impossible to provide. Like molds of the kids mouth! This was 1.5 years ago! The orthodontist USED the molds because it's MEDICALLY NECESSARY to treat our daughter! Once we get the denial letter we are working with the Idaho Department of Insurance and Idaho Consumer protection to file a formal complaint. Total and complete scam. ALL Idaho standards for proof were MET. They're happy to take your money, and will deny any claim even if it's medically necessary. We will exhaust every option and show they are fraudulent, biased and misleading. Switching to Blue Cross Blue Shield ASAP. You are better off just saving your premium and paying cash for your procedures because they won't cover it anyway."

"There's a lot of negative press in the reviews ... don't believe them ... those people never bothered to update their reviews after Delta Dental reached out to them to make it right. IMHO, if the company responds to a negative review, gives you a phone number and a name to call - and YOU do not make it right by them - that's on you. From our point of view ... my husband and I have been subscribers with Delta Dental of Idaho for several years. Prior to this, we had "other" insurance through work. When we retired, we had to pick a new carrier. Without a doubt, Delta Dental has been wonderful to work with. They answer the phone! Can't tell you how surprised I was for that after moving to Idaho from Washington! Their programs are comprehensive and cost effective - and fair. The new "HOW" program, where they coordinate pro-active patient care directly with the dentist - is amazing. If you are shopping for dental insurance coverage - by all means - check out Delta Dental!"
