"This is the premier Art Supply store in Salem. There is something for everyone and I liked that they also had a lot of do it yourself kits for many types of art. The rear of the store has lockers for artists to work as well as a revolving art show. The second time we visited, they were have a tiny art show which was really great. The staff was very helpful and eager to problem solve. I would for sure recommend this store."
"Bought some supplies, ended up not using them for a project I was working on so I went to return them 3 days later, unfortunately I didn’t grab the receipt. (who needs receipts anymore when you pay with a debit card?) The lady at the counter treated me like I was trying to return stolen goods the entire time. She said she “couldn’t find my name or purchase in the system”, so I said “you know, that’s fine I’ll take store credit then” she continued to push back on me saying she needs to call the store owner for approval. I asked her if she wanted me to go to my bank to get a proof of purchase, she declined. Again she insisted that she talks to the store owner, so she took my number down and of course I never heard from anyone. I’ll gladly support a big box store from now on."
"This place is wonderful. And so are the staff. I had been looking for an extremely large canvas, scoured the internet and local art supply stores, and Art Department had the largest canvas selection. They were extremely helpful and friendly on the phone, even more personable and lovely in person. The store itself has a great selection of products. One trip in and they made me a lifetime customer."
"Staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I was there to look for a gift for an artsy 10-year-old and was guided to just the right thing. When I haven’t found what I need they always offer to special order. They give good advice regarding products I haven’t used before. And thank goodness we have them helping to promote art in our community in all its forms."
