About the Business

Farragut City Park

Farragut City Park, located in Portland, Oregon, is a popular tourist attraction known for its beautiful surroundings and recreational opportunities. Recently, improvements have been made to the park to cater to the needs of younger visitors, with a new toddler play area being added to provide appropriate play opportunities for children aged 0-5. Additionally, efforts are being made to remove ADA barriers and enhance playground accessibility for all visitors.

The park is named after Admiral David Glasgow Farragut, a Civil War hero known for his famous quote, "Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!" Visitors can enjoy a variety of amenities at Farragut City Park, including basketball courts, walking paths, and picnic areas. However, please note that the basketball court near N. Kerby Ave is currently closed for repairs due to safety concerns.

The City of Portland is committed to ensuring that all visitors have meaningful access to park programs and services in compliance with Civil Rights Title VI and ADA Title II laws. Translation, interpretation, and other services are available upon request to accommodate the needs of all visitors. For more information or to provide feedback on park improvements, please contact the City of Portland at 503-823-4000.

"Another beautiful small Park here in Portland near where I have my motor home parked. Lots of Tall Trees, it's by the Railroad a lot of it is on a slope but it's a great place to walk your dog or just go for a walk. They're doing work on on the west end of the park where there are building a skate park there. I like this Park because this is where I go to take my pictures of Mount Hood and Mount Saint Helens. So good viewing from the adjoining bridge."

"this park is MOSTLY under construction! The restrooms are NOT cleaned EVER shouldnt matter what kind provided to the Park. I will say that it is peaceful (if you can block the contsruction from your view). This Park Is fairly clean (minus the restrooms). However, it is concerning w/ the left over giant, and i mean very Large Scale Stumps from what used to be, HIstorical Age Trees. I boldly Am using the Word Historical with great purpose to add awareness to readers of why I would be concerned . I know this by the stump left behind that it was much older and larger than most trees that are listed as Historical and not to Cut down . I am only wondering."

"Nice quiet park. Lots of dogs off leash so know that going in. The upper part is great for family walks on the loop pathways through beautiful evergreens and around a baseball diamond. The lower part is perfect for off leash dogs. Tons of terrain to run through. My corgi loves the gnarly roots that she can climb while chasing squirrels. In late 2019 there were a couple of bald eagles that made Farragut their home for almost 2 weeks. Great park. Love that it’s a little sleepy compared to Peninsula."

"This is a beautiful Park that you can take your kids to, also walk dogs. There's a school right next door to it. There's basketball Court. There's a baseball field. Places to lock up your bike or what ever. The whole place is really neat and clean. It's well taken care of. There are plenty of places to park your car right in the area. There are plenty of seats and benches. For the Pokemon players there's three gyms there a bunch of pokestops. There are actually a lot of Pokemon that spawn there. I wish I could stay there all day that's how beautiful it is. I am for sure going to go back there though. Also if you could please like my stuff and follow me. I am trying to earn stuff and I need people to do this to earn it from Google. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the park."
