"This is the WORST emergency room I have ever been to. The nurse at the front was mean and unfriendly both to us and so many of the other people coming in it was uncomfortable to witness. The ER doctor was even worse, impatient with me for having a disability, and behaving so rudely that after we left my 12 YEAR OLD was visibly upset and when I asked what was wrong, he said he was sad because it was so hard to watch someone treat his mom that way. I am completely baffled by this whole experience and shocked that medical professionals who are supposed to be caring and helpful, could be such the opposite and to people at their most vulnerable. What shameful behavior. We will never be back and I will make sure everyone in my communities and circles knows this is not a safe place."
"Worst ER visit ever. I went there with severe pain in my neck. The RN didn't seem to care and didn't even give me a warm blanket. The physician was horrible. They did an MRI and the diagnoses was cervical spondylitis. Excruciating pain and he wouldn't give me anything for the pain. I had to see my physician and he helped. Go somewhere else if you're in severe pain!! They didn't care here. The only one that seemed to care was the gentleman that took the MRI."
"Providence's tagline "Caring with Compassion" is a ruse. I had a bad experience at Providence Portland Medical Center this weekend. My wife was mauled by a dog and had to get her face stitched up this past weekend. I wasn't with her at the time but luckily her friend drove her to the hospital right after it happened. Her friend sent me the hospital location and when I arrived, the front desk told me they would take me back in 5-10 mins to see my wife. After 30 mins, I went back up and was told another 5-10 mins, but was told to stay close by so I could go see her when called. This happened several times until they said unfortunately due to policy they are unable to let me see my wife. I persisted because in what world can someone keep you from seeing a family member for 6 hours with no communication and no updates. After going up every 30 mins to try and get an update, Alicia (RN) at the front desk yelled at me and told me it's policy and that I can't see my wife because the hospital is too busy. She also declined to give me an update on the wellbeing of my wife. I am still trying to grasp how a hospital is allowed to keep you from seeing a family member or updating you on their wellbeing after a traumatic incident. If you want to be able to see your loved ones and get updates on their wellbeing while they are in the ER, avoid this location at all costs."
"Great place, good staff. Great doctors. Had biopsy for a tumor, to see if cancerous or not. And am in real great hands. From top to bottom.christen and Tracy are the best care givers/ nurses. You are in great hands. Check out my podcast. Spotify for podcasters: profiler69?."
"My wife was transferred here by ambulance from another hospital this evening for emergency surgery. I was not able to ride in the ambulance for some reason so I drove here to meet them. When I arrived, first the ER parking lot is full, with lines of cars to wait for a spot. This is right next to another lot just for physicians that had 40-50 empty spaces. I finally just frantically drove up to the street, parked there, and ran back to the hospital - because, you know, emergency surgery. When I got into the only entrance available, the ER, there was a long line I was forced to go through that scans your ID and does other checks very similar to TSA. This was all after waiting in line to go through a metal detector. ALL OF THIS WHILE MY WIFE IS BEING WHEELED IN FOR EMERGENCY SURGERY AND WONDERING WHY I AM NOT THERE WITH HER. This gestapo type security that prevents you to get in to see your loved ones before they go into a very scary and life threatening surgery is unacceptable. How do they not have a process in place for situations like this where a spouse or a close loves one just wants to be close by for all of these very important conversations with doctors. Instead, I was in line for an extremely long time just trying to get into the building. And yes, I did let them know why I was there. Doesn’t matter. Zero urgency from them. I am truly ashamed that we have a place like this in our city that would treat people this way. I am now in the waiting room while my wife is surgery, and waiting to find out what’s going on. Shame on you Providence."
