"I checked myself in to detox from alcohol. The woman that admitted me was very professional and kind. I did have to wait a while because she was already in the process of admitting someone else. I didn't mind and I didn't have to wait very long. Once the process of admitting me was completed I met a nurse. She told me what to expect, vitals, weight etc. She also gave me a tour. After everything on her end was completed, she showed me to my room and I went to bed. Sleep that night was not pleasant at all. The symptoms of detox were horrible, but it was something that I had to do for myself. Since I didn't get much sleep I didn't get up until 1:30 the next day. That day I saw a psychiatrist, doctor and a caseworker. I was asked if I had a plan in place for when I get home and I get the urge to drink. I told them that I would go for a walk and write in my journal. After meeting up and talking to them I decided to join a few of the other patients and play the game apples to apples. It was alot of fun and it helped me to keep my mind off of my symptoms, because they were still rough. At dinner that night I could barely eat or even look at food, my stomach wasn't having it. The next day I joined some of the others for occupational therapy. We went to a room with different art projects to do. I ended up coloring. After lunch my mom came over and her and I discussed out patient treatment with the doctor. After that I was all set to be discharged. I have to say that my time there was nice and each and every staff member went above and beyond to care for me while I was there. I'd recommend this place to anyone in need of help."
