"The Clocktower Inn was in a very nice location; walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. We had a lovely room on the top with a balcony overlooking the courtyard area. Very quiet and peaceful. Only complaint would have to be the breakfast. Disappointing selection, certainly not gourmet, and very limited."

"This place is not the Ritz, but rooms are clean and you get excellent daily housekeeping, which does not seem to be standard at fancier hotels these days. There's also a modest breakfast (coffee, toast, yogurt fruit, pancakes) included. The facility is a bit tired, but my King room had a nice little balcony for enjoying a glass of wine in the glorious Ventura climate. Furniture is kind of massive riffing off of the nearby mission. Location is really great. 2 blocks to downtown walkable restaurant district. Half mile stroll to the beach where I took my 5 mile walks each morning. We've stayed here a half dozen times and will return again. Parking is a bit limited. Sometimes you have to park on fairly quiet fronting street."

"The hotel is not as glamorous as the photos on the website show. It seems like it once was a nice hotel, but now, you can tell there is just a lack of attention to detail (mismatched paint touch ups, different colored tile repairs, missing coffee cups, crooked stickers and signs on doors, lack of weatherstripping on doors, I could go on. The parking lot asphalt doesn't look like it's been paved, let alone seal coated in 20 years. Don't expect much of a "breakfast". It was your basic budget hotel spread of bagels, cereal, some fruit and waffle mix. I was expecting at least some eggs, bacon or sausage patties. Others have mentioned the beds - oof... I thought I was sleeping on a child's plastic wrapped crib mattress. The staff was nice, no complaints there. I don't' think I'd stay there again unless it was half the price."

"Overall a great place to spend the night. The staff was excellent and very friendly. The rooms are small so be aware of that. Otherwise they are equipped well and the 2nd floor has balconies. Oh and stop by Blue Agave next door - the food was amazing!"

"Location, staff, and overall aesthetic of this hotel were great, but like other reviews have stated, the inn needs a bit of a remodel. I fell asleep on what felt like a pile of springs and I was woken up to what I thought was someone in our bathroom, but turned out to just be the person in the next room over. The walls were so thin that their shower turning on woke me up. After two nights in my own bed, my back is still sore from my experience here. I hope to return if they update their rooms because I did truly love the space, but in my opinion, the one thing any hotel room needs to be successful is a decent bed, but I've slept on floors more comfortable than the bed at the Clocktower Inn."
