"I would usually give this place 5 stars but unfortunately today my 9 year old daughter who was with me while shopping here experienced her first dose of discrimination and racism by the cashier GORDON a young Asian male. My daughter mother and I always go to this 99 cents store it’s always clean and stocked. When we first walked in he (Gordon) stared at us and then followed us by the candy section. So the vibe was already off. Anyway my mother got in one line and I got in another line. I politely said hello and Gordon he didn’t say hi nor did he ask if we needed a bag. I continued to watch him scan my items and joke around with my child. My mother purchased an item for my daughter at the register directly behind us and after she purchased the item she said to my daughter “here come get your item”. My child went to get the item and came back to help me bag our remaining items. I said in front of Gordon “put that item your granny got you and put it in this bag” As Gordon was almost finished with scanning our items he looked at my child and said “did you wanna pay for that separately?” I said no my mom paid for that already. Gordon then looked down and I said “you thought the item wasn’t paid for?” Gordon rudely said “NO!” I then “why did you think that?” Gordon said “ because she just came over with the item” I just looked at him and he remained looking down. I’m African American I work hard and spent my hard earned money to be discriminated against. Many might not take this serious but I do and I will never purchase from this store again ever! If the manager is looking at this review please talk to Gordon maybe he needs to reevaluate his customer service"
"Great selection of items. They have hired new cashiers so the check out lines flow quickly out. Always Clean inside & Out."
"A bit larger than most but that brings on congestion at the checkout. Once again a shortage of cashiers . I can state that the selection of merchandise is impressive though. I'm retired and have plenty of time and am in no hurry generally."
"I especially like this store because it has very different things from the others, a lot of variety in things for birthdays, Christmas and household items, they also sell fruits, vegetables and others."
