Bow Wow Billie's Dog Bathing and Grooming

"I am writing this review with profound disappointment regarding the grooming services we received on 1.7.24. The entire experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to express our deep concerns. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the groomer had an unprofessional attitude. The lack of courtesy and friendliness towards customers is unacceptable. A welcoming atmosphere should be a basic expectation from any service provider. To our shock, our dog was placed in a cage intended for a smaller dog. This negligence is not only careless but also raises concerns about the overall competence of the grooming facility. Our pet's safety should be a top priority, and this blatant oversight is unacceptable. An hour after dropping off our dog, we were informed that they had given him a bath but had to stop due to alleged aggressive behavior – snapping, barking, and attempting to bite. This is the first time we have heard such claims, and it was never communicated to us during previous visits. In an attempt to resolve the situation, I offered to provide a muzzle for our dog's safety and the groomer's comfort. Shockingly, the offer was dismissed with the explanation that our pet had previously attempted to bite them. If this was a recurring issue, we should have been informed earlier, and our willingness to cooperate should have been acknowledged. We were taken aback by the new claim of our dog's aggressive behavior. No prior communication or warning was given, despite having a previous report card dated 7.8.23 that only mentioned issues with the trim of the back end. Proper communication is crucial for pet owners to make informed decisions about grooming services. To add to our dismay, our dog was returned to us damp and with a bleeding paw. This neglect of our pet's physical well-being is completely unacceptable. Such conditions should never be tolerated in a professional grooming setting. Given the series of issues we encountered during this visit, we find it hard to trust the grooming services provided. The lack of transparency, the mishandling of our pet's grooming process, and the apparent physical discomfort inflicted on our dog have left us extremely dissatisfied. We expected a level of professionalism, transparency, and communication that were sorely lacking in this experience. Unfortunately, due to these multiple shortcomings, we cannot recommend this grooming service and will be seeking alternative options for our pet's future grooming needs. UPDATE 1.19.24 Following the owner's response to my intial post . My husband and I were never told of our dog's alleged attempts to bite until this appointment on 1.7.24. They never addressed any of my concerns about staff behavior, the negligence of putting a dog of his size in a small crate, or letting us know that they were aware that our dog was hurt on site when we respected their wishes to pick up our dog early. This business truly does not care and would rather not be held accountable for its actions."

"Had our first experience with grooming today at Bow Wow Billie's. If there was a way to give more than 5 stars, I would. We have been to every groomer in town and this is where we will stay. Our dog is not always the easiest because of his tight curls and loads of energy, but he was done absolutely perfectly. Couldn't be happier with the service. Billie took extra time to walk us through everything, communicated what we needed to do, and even spent time after I picked up our dog to make sure everything was good. Matteo was so happy when he came home that he didn't even have to adjust. It was like nothing had even happened. Thank you so much."

"I came here with Koda, my 12 year old golden to get groomed. Billie took her time with him, giving him time to lay down as often as he needed. I cannot express enough how much the level of care that she gave to Koda meant to me(and him). It is so hard to find anyone who cares about your pet as much as you do. Billie and her team exceeded my expectations and set the bar high for other groomers!"

"I have been taking my dog here for a few years and they are by far my favorite groomer! They always do an amazing job and really love your fur babies! If you live in the Arlington area I highly recommend them!"

"Highly disappointed in the quality and service this place provided. I came to Bow Wow Billies once prior and received a relatively good haircut for my pup. Since he looked well groomed I rescheduled to keep my pup looking nice and to get used to the grooming process. The second time around was an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT experience. I was running a bit behind and dropped him off 15 behind the 9 a.m. drop off time. Apparently they have a late fee charge that I was not informed about when I dropped him off or picked him up. Apparently there is a sign on the wall somewhere within the building with very small message about it that I did not see, but a verbal notice would have been nice given every other place I have been to is much less strict on drop off times. As a business owner I respect her rules just wish a verbal notice would have been given. I requested the face and his bottom to be trimmed and cleaned up around the edges. Keep in mind the first time he looked very nice and they did well so that is what I expected and requested again. This time they couldn’t have spent more than 5 min on him. His ears were kind of clipped and his private but that is about it. When I called to inquire about it I was told I could bring him back to be fixed and I could pay difference between “face and essentials” and full grooming. I don’t care the cost I just wanted him to look nice and agreed to this at first. At that time I asked the difference in cost and she told me it was around 60. I paid 54. That is when she finally informed me she talked on a late charge wayyyyy after the fact. I get it, those are your rules but don’t sneak it on there without telling me when dropping off or picking up. It was never told how strict the drop off time was it that it would result in a considerable late fee. I am mostly disappointed in the lack of care in quality. The resolution was being him back but you have to pay more, and it didn’t seem to me they cared to fix the situation. I just wanted what I received last time. The first pic attached is 10 min after he got home from being groomed for the 2nd appt mentioned above. (His right leg has a shaved part from surgery and that is not their fault) The latter pics are after being groomed by a different groomer. Night and day difference between the two. 2 stars as first time was great, 2nd was awful. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I wish them the best though."
