About the Business

Verlo Mattress

Verlo Mattress, located at 301 North Broadway in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a furniture and home goods store specializing in mattresses. If you have a single-sided mattress, you can simply rotate it for even wear, while double-sided mattresses should be flipped and rotated. Verlo can adjust most mattresses, not just their own, to make one side firmer and the other softer, ensuring both you and your partner are comfortable. A Comfort Adjustment involves a local expert coming to your home or bringing the mattress back to the factory to replace, add, or subtract components to change its feel, such as adding gel memory foam or latex foam for softness or switching to firmer components for added firmness.

"We purchased a Verlo model number 9, this is undoubtable, the worse mattress ever made. After two nigh.t of sleeping on it, you leave body impression deep enough to make look like someone is in the middle of the bed, have received NO satisfaction from the company. Would highly recommend that you look else where. one star is an over rating Gene"

"My family bought 7 mattresses over the years. I used to love the mattresses but the last one was a dud. It was barely used and had a number of problems with it. There was a 3 inch indentation where my head was (mattress couldn't support my head) and the middle fell in. I called corporate and spoke with a guy named Jamal. He sent someone over to check my mattress and found that indeed it had a indentation inches around my head area, the middle fell in and the mattress angled (one side being lower than the other). Jamal didn't have a good answer but the matter got escalated to Mary P, who said I could have a new replacement mattress (I sent pictures of my many mattresses we bought over the years since it wasn't in their system). Jamal said he would send me a replacement mattress but forgot which one Mary approved. I never received my mattress and went back and forth with Jamal for over 6 months. And I mean I called many, many times. Then Covid hit. Now that lockdown is over, I called them again and no one got back to me. Not only did they sell me a defective mattress but they failed to honor their warranty. I paid $1,300 for a mattress that is lopsided (higher on one end), sinks in the middle and can't support my head."

"My husband and I purchased 2 Verlo mattresses (1 king, 1 queen) for our Boulder home at the recommendation of our Milwaukee-based family. We purchased it knowing we were going to be having a baby, and the lifetime comfort guarantee (where they come and help tweak it *FOREVER* if you're uncomfortable) was the main reason for purchasing. Our mattresses were an order of magnitude more expensive than typical mattresses and especially the online mattresses that are gaining so much traction. Fast forward just 2 years later after spending several THOUSANDS of dollars on our two mattresses and customer service tells us that not only is the lifetime guarantee no longer applicable because they closed all Colorado factories (which they did not notify us about) but that the only way to "tweak" our Verlo mattress from here out is to purchase a foam topper from Verlo that's just called "hard" or "soft" to the tune of $179. What a joke. I have absolutely no intention of giving this company any more money and am incensed that I was conned into spending thousands in the name of comfort just to find out that lifetime meant just until it was delivered to my home, at which point Verlo no longer cares what happens and will make absolutely no effort to fix the problem or care about their customers. DO NOT purchase from this company. Don't fall for their "lifetime" guarantee, and just do yourself a favor -- skip it and look elsewhere. We will be informing our Milwaukee family and their friends to make a different choice and recommendation next time."

"I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing my third Verlo mattress. Like the above customer, the foam is irregular, and I feel as if I am rolling into a pit in the middle of the mattress. I brought the mattress back for tweaking; however, I see no difference. Apparently Verlo’s quality has gone down in the past 20 years. I recently slept at an Airbnb which had my idea of a great, firm mattress, and found out where I should have bought my mattress. Although I have recommended many people to shop locally and buy Verlo, I will not do that again. In the meantime, I’m stuck with a $1200 mattress that makes me angry every time I go to bed."

"Paid well over >$1000.00 for a king Mattress. Lead to believe, “no worries, we will fix it if you aren’t satisfied, fully guaranteed! “ Got it home and was not what we thought we bought. They gave us a hard time about bringing it in to have it fixed and they then explained they don’t take them back, they will fix ONCE for no cost. They took it and brought it back and it did not seem even, had some areas of foam not level. Obvious! Decided to live with it or pay more to fix it and make it right. Moved recently with professional movers and now we have build up at the bottom and areas all over with foam misplaced. I called and still they want US to pay to make it right as it is now beyond a year!! They say “it was moved wrong”, seriously !? I have had 3 other Verlo’s and this is the first that has been so bad. I moved 3 additional mattresses with same movers and no issues with those. This is ridiculous and we will never purchase a Verlo again and will inform everyone we know about this. In addition, we will write to consumer reports, better business bureau and tweet! We have a condo in Florida and bought a king from City Mattress and they were GREAT and we have a perfect mattress from them. None located near my home or I would have bought another. I have purchased many mattresses, so I know what we like. This is a lemon! I tried to tell them it was not right immediately and they have not helped us unless we pay more to get it right. Read the fine print! They mislead you!!"
