Tru by Hilton St. Louis Downtown

"DelShannon and Valinda (I'm sure I spelled their names incorrectly..so sorry) are the only reason I didn't really go with less than 1 star in this review. The two of them were AMAZING!! They really tried to make the mistakes right, but by that point, it was really too late to fix. EVERYONE else, and I do everyone else should receive 0 stars. My family and I couldn't use our digital keys to gain access to the building, both bathroom showers were not cleaned with hair visible on the toilet paper rolls, the sprinkler had a "towel/rubber band" covering it, the extremely slow & shaky elevator had graffiti scratched onto both doors, and the hallways were always trashy and unkept. That wasnt even all the issues!We will never be visiting this Hilton again...shameful this location is not up to Hilton standards at all! Don't waste your money on the $45 valet that's just in the alley parking you could do yourself."

"I purchased a small four dollar bottle of Powerade from their lobby. Expensive yes but I understand the cost of convenience that’s not the issue. The issue is that I used my card and without even letting me know it might happen they put a $95.45 hold on my card for a four dollar drink it’s absolutely ridiculous. It has been a weak and this issue is still unresolved with no real answer as to why it happened or so much as an we are sorry for your inconvenience. My significant other is a premium member with Hilton and we will no longer be doing business with this establishment. I wasn’t even going to mention getting harassed by the security while I was trying to eat breakfast. I didn’t look like their typical guests is what I was told. Poor business and poor etiquette if you ask me. Never had these issues at any other Hilton affiliate. So beware if you have visible tattoos or wear informal attire to eat your breakfast you may be harassed"

"Room: + great view on the 12th floor, lots of lighting options, comfortable, good bathroom soaps/lotions. - microwave and coffee were in lobby, not individual rooms. Some crumbs/dirt on shelves. Service: + friendly and helpful employees. - we did not get housekeeping at all during our 3-night stay. Location: close to all the downtown attractions. Uber/lyft always 2-5 minutes away."

"I first would like to say that my experience at this hotel was not the best but not nearly as bad as others make it seem. After booking I was worried about what our stay would be like but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived in the lobby and found that it was clean and the staff were friendly. We did not have the hot water issue that others described and although you could tell a few things here and there were a not built as well, it still was not nearly as bad as I expected based off the reviews. Is this the nicest Hilton ever? No. Does it need some work? Yes. But overall my experience was decent. One thing that was annoying was the parking situation, you either paid $45 for valet which was not near the hotel or you paid to park on the street where you worry about your car being broken into. I hope this review helps others on their decision like I was hoping one would do for me!"

"Absolutely the worst Hilton experience I've ever had. Several people lounging behind the counter not doing anything while 1 employee handles a line of 15 guests. Only 1 of my 2 rooms was ready an hour after check in time. Was told I'd get a text when the second room was ready. It's now after midnight the next day and I'm having to wait in the same line, with the same employees sitting behind the counter not doing jack, while 1 employee handles about 10 guests. We get into the second room and the window blinds have been ripped down so there's no way to block the city lights."
