"I was a bit apprehensive in terms of finding a new salon, as I did not know what I was going to expect. I cannot tell you how many salons I reached out to about a specific brand of hair dye that I needed touched up and how none of them used it..... except Haven Salon! I had the pleasure of e-mailing back and forth with Tina (bless her heart for dealing with all my questions and anxieties). When I showed up for my appointment, I was instantly calmed by the ambiance. Upon meeting Tina, she was cordial and courteous. She took exceptional care of my hair and made me feel so lively. I will definitely be going back not only because of Tina's passion for hair, but also because of how wonderfully I was treated."

"In order to provide an honest review, I feel compelled to share my personal experience at Haven salon. Although the decor of the salon is quite impressive, I was extremely disappointed with Tina's service. Despite booking a hair extension consultation with her, she failed to provide me with the promised level of quality. Instead of using new and high-quality hair extensions, she used all of the hair that was available to her. In addition, Tina's attitude towards me was quite unpleasant. On the other hand, I must say that Kali, Tina's coworker, was quite exceptional in her work. However, due to my negative experience with Tina, I cannot recommend her services. In my opinion, the high cost of her services is not justified by the poor quality of her work."

They make you feel welcome and a part of the Haven family from your first visit. I’ve been going there for a year and feel so lucky to have found them. Tina’s salon is a hidden gem in STL!"

"My appointment was scheduled for 10:00 am. I had to wait outside for Tina and another girl to get there nearly 15 minutes late. My experience was good while having my hair done. I left with wet hair; it wasn’t dried. It cost over $60 for a simple hair cut. I realized a couple days later that one side is quite a bit longer than the other. I went in on a Thursday, but now it was the weekend, so I waited until Monday to call, only to realize they are closed Mondays. So I called today, Tuesday, and told Ally that I needed my hair fixed. I got scheduled for Saturday; 4 days away. I have to go around with lopsided hair until then. I really wanted to love Haven, but I’m feeling robbed. I should have been more aggressive on the phone, but I’m a very non-confrontational person, so I just agreed to come in Saturday. I can’t imagine it will take long to clip a half inch off one side, but oh well. UPDATE: In response to the response, yes, I’m cheap, because I hate paying large sums of money when I don’t get what I payed for. If I wanted lopsided hair then I would have just gone to Great Clips. I spent the money without issue (and gave a tip as well) believing that what I had received was a $60 hair cut. They have now sent me a passive aggressive text letting me know that I actually have to wait two weeks to have their mistake fixed; so I’m just going to cut it myself. The text also let me know that karma would be coming for me due to me treating them badly by leaving an honest review. I truly hate to be a “Karen”. I’m willing to pay more to support local small businesses, but not when the customer service is so strongly lacking. Every other salon I’ve been to has made time to fix a bad cut for free. I truly wish the best for Haven and its staff. I just feel the need to let others know what to expect. I would have gladly changed the review if I had received understanding help and kindness after reaching out, and I’m honestly a bit shocked by the response I’ve received. UPDATE 2: Yes, I don’t like to spend much money on my hair. I decided to try Haven out, prepared to pay the price, assuming I would be happy with the result, thus it would be worth it. Of course I’ve gotten my hair cut before, and every salon I’ve heard of is accommodating in terms of refining unsatisfactory cuts. Of course hair changes after it’s dried, but my hair wasn’t dried there for some reason. I’ve never experienced this issue with uneven hair before; then again I’ve never left another salon with wet hair. I wasn’t told that there was such a high probability that it would be uneven. I don’t personally believe in karma, nor was it my concern when writing this review. I just want others to know what to expect. I don’t feel I’ve been passive aggressive, but rather straightforward."

"Great salon. Very relaxing and comfortable. Lexi listened and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it. Lexi is very knowledgeable and skilled. Great shampoo and style - all-around great experience. A great value. I will definitely be back!"
