"Amazing School !! I've been to this school since per k and now ima bout to be in 7th grade and I just got stuck to this school and ill never leave until 8th grade Amazing principles bc they always try to make kids confident on stairs and will make kids confident that they will rock the staar Most of the teachers are Amazing except substitutes but we almost never have any I have wonderful teachers and they will help u if u ever need anything PE coaches always try so hard to make kids have fun and they do The principals will always help u if ur having problems I recommend this school so much !!! The teachers will help u if u ever feel sad which makes me feel safe in this school I don't think there is any more Amazing school like this although the only issue I'm having is that there's a lot of kids like me that get send home bc of being exposed of covid and sometimes I miss a few fun stuff which make me sad but the rest Is AWESOME!!"
"I didn't have the greatest experience dealing with the administration, they don't seem to follow up on investigating the improper actions of their teachers.I would advise you if you have a child in MS.Hooks clas be careful and listen to your child if he or she is afraid of going to school there Vve a childchilf"
"This school is a gem! (Shh! Keep it here.) It has small class size, a welcoming atmosphere, kids are very polite and the teachers and staff are great. We have had a great experience here. Highly recommend the research based dual-language program which is in partnership with University of Colorado Boulder."
"I went to this school and my oldest went here. Now my youngest is here currently. Yesterday I needed my son's report card and no one helped. During the most busiest time they kept trying to tell me I needed to talk to Ms Villarreal who is dealing with registration for the following year. She obviously hadn't already responded to my first 2 voicemails and email about registration, why would she have time to get me a copy of my son's report card when I know someone else could easily help her and do it. The only 2 faculty members who responded with any kind of feedback to help we're Coach Arce and Ms. Apodaca. Props and 2 thumbs up to them. Five stars to them ONLY for going above and beyond for responding to a mother who is trying to help her son stay on track. Everyone else just wants to follow policy and procedures bcuz that's their job. Well thumbs down to you. Help a staff member out, cuz Ms Villarreal could possibly use some of y'all's help in getting back to some of these parents. Your a TEAM!"
"It's a nice school and I know they're trying to be a better school. It's the kids parents that is holding Cotton Elementary in being a better school. When one of the teachers is taking to a parents of a child that was misbehaving that day and the parent looks like a member of the punk rock band "the sex pistols" or dressed "trashy" and "ghetto". Pretty much the kids are going to continue misbehaving. The kids parents are trashy and low-class, which means the kids are going to be a problem in class and with other students (like mine was). I see kids could be mean and bully in middle school and high school but in kindergarten. One child was a Constant bully and class room problem and the teacher was powerless to fix the issue. I seen and meet the parent and it was share pointless. Good school in a bad area."
