"I stopped in on a whim on the way back from work craving pizza. What I got was a great experience and absolutely wonderful food. Michelle was a phenomenal waitress, and the food will absolutely bring me back to try more of what the menu has to offer. I had mozzarella sticks and a 12 inch pizza with pepperoni and sausage."

"I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and maybe they were having an off night last night because I've heard people say they're some of the best pizza in the west burbs, they have great google reviews and the place was packed. I really wanted to love this place as I like supporting local business and I love their retro dining room from the pics I saw. Unfortunately my pizza last night was pretty terrible. Pizza was incredibly undercooked, no browning on the cheese and the undercarriage was white almost doughy, it even kind of had that raw dough smell to it. I normally order my pizzas well done but saw someone complained their sister ordered well done and they didnt like it and owner responded and said come back and try it normal so didnt wind up ordering it well done. I'm actually kind of surprised someone would think it was acceptable sending out a pizza that undercooked. While I'm sure the pizza may have been decent cooked properly even if it was unfortunately I didn't think the dough, cheese or entire pizza really had any flavor to it, no seasoning at all, my gf compared it to lunchroom pizza. Typically I demolish a family style pizza but last night we ate maybe 20% of the pizza and wound up trashing the rest didn't even bother saving it. The cheesy garlic bread was okay. Have a friend coming in to town next week and really wanted to take him here as I like the decor and vibe so decided to try it out first last night but unfortunately was disappointed. Not sure if it was an off night or if this pizza just isn't my cup of tea but there's so much good pizza in the area I probably won't be trying them again"

"Good tavern style option in the area however are some things important enough to loose a few stars ; Sauce ; needs a little bit more flavor. Crust : needs salt and maybe cooked a few minutes longer ? Cheese to sauce ratio : perfect Very friendly staff and cute sit down area for family / dine in"

"Papa’s Pizza Place is a must visit for any Chicago pizza fan. They are consistently awesome. I’m guessing they designed the dine in area in the 1970s. It feels like you are stepping back in time. It is so cool and well kept. My family always orders a pepperoni pizza well done with the pepperoni on top. I’ve be known to drink a schooner or two of beer here. The schooner is always perfectly chilled. They have some of the nicest people serving here. Keep up the great work to everyone at Papa’s!
