"This is a beautiful area good location! But it's in a horrible apartment complex I've only lived here for 2 months the buildings and everything in it is supposed to be brand new but I've had the maintenance people to come fix things in this apartment more than 11 time! The walls are so thin you can hear everybody you can hear all the footsteps you can hear conversations in other people's apartments! You can barely play music or anything at your house cuz you get noise complaints the police knocks in your door! I can barely get hot water! Trash pickup is supposed to be at a certain time but they always pick up the trash at 1:00 in the morning making noises in the hallway! It's supposed to be a gated community but the gate stay open all day and all night I get home at 1:00 in the morning and the gates are open! I've had a couple packages already stolen! And honestly there's trash everywhere and dog poop everywhere I stepped in dog poop walking to my car! This place is not worth the money at all! For the price that we paying we should be really comfortable but we're not we're uncomfortable which is a problem when you're dropping about 2,200 a month! Very cheap quality materials put into this apartment complex! Paper wall thin! Can't even paint a straight line because there's paint everywhere! The electrical Smart House really sucks! So we happen to have a community area that has a pool and TVs but the residents are not allowed to use the TV unless it's a special event going on which makes no sense for the rent that we're paying we should be able to have that community area for every residents to use and again unprofessional people in the front! Especially for the short answers you guys give people don't explain anything to be honest with you you guys need better communication skills in the front we pay you guys good rent do your job!"
"Buyer beware! MAA is "supposed" to be luxury apartment living. I lived there for over two years, never once missed rent or a day late and for almost 2k a month here is what I received ....I lived in Phase II which was the "newer" phase. The cabinets are laminate are were pulling apart and bubbling. Never fixed. The breezeways were filthy. Not one time were they power washed. The breezeways also have ceiling fans- not one time were they ever turned on even in 110 degree heat. The maintenance guys are awesome because they have to be. The air conditioner had issues at least 5 times. Security was a constant issue and the gates were either not working or open 50% of the time. I signed two leases and when I moved out they sent me to collections for $100 lol (carpet damage?) There's only carpet in one room, I lived alone, no pets and I'm very OCD about cleanliness. You have lots of choices within a 3 mile radius of this dump. Choose wisely"
"My partner and I have been living here for a month and a half, and I hoped it would take longer than that for me to leave a review but here goes I guess… Let’s start with what the complex does right, the tours are great, the office is responsive (helpful? No. But they will respond.), and the area is amazing, perfect distance from whatever shopping and small dining outings you might like to enjoy. Now for the overwhelming bad: If you are expecting a quiet community, best of luck. Our neighbors are LOUD, and despite making a noise complaint through the proper channels, nothing about it has changed. My issue with this? Not only have my partner and I received noise complaints outside of quiet hours (yes, they WILL contact you during the day about noise complaints, even if you are not violating city ordinances), but they have called the police to our apartment unit, again DURING THE DAY outside of quiet hours. The property manager themselves has even knocked on the door, waking my partner from sleep, to report a noise complaint against my apartment where all tenants were, may I add again, ASLEEP?? to let us know that we were being “too loud” in the middle of the day. I saw another comment saying this might be a hot spot for police to hang out, I honestly believe it considering they sent four armed officers to our door in response to a noise complaint. The building we are housed in is also relatively new, I believe they said the build was complete in 2020, so I would love to understand how and why our guest shower leaks out of the “sealed” corners, and why we have had to call maintenance for issues four time in the five weeks we have been in residence here. Also, please beware that there is definite theft among the community here, which the property manager admitted to verbally herself when asked if the recurring “broken gate” issue might have anything to do with our packages not arriving when the carriers say it has been delivered. “It doesn’t have anything to do with the gate, it’s most likely the residents here”. But there are no cameras in the mailroom, and no way to take any sort of action against someone who might have stolen your packages. I am aware that apartment complexes are sometimes a challenge to live in, there are a lot of people trying to live separate lives in extremely close proximity with one another. However, I feel it is the complexes responsibility to mediate and mitigate those issues, and as I said before the people that work the office are very good at picking up the phone and hearing your issues, but they have no authority and no will to take action to correct the issues. They are also extremely polite, I do want to stress that they try to do their jobs well (I work service industry so I understand things can get difficult), but there are certain staff that will get frustrated and start handling you rudely if you try to press an issue past what they are willing to handle. At $2000 per month (and we decided to start only one lease, because after this one is up we are almost guaranteed an increase in rent of about $400-$500) I do not feel this is money well spent. There have been frustrations and headaches at quite literally every turn, and I do not feel heard or taken seriously whatsoever. If you are looking for a place to park your car and lay your head at night for two grand, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for quality of life and a community to enjoy? This is definitely not the spot I would recommend. I will be terminating my lease and moving on at the soonest opportunity, and I would advise anyone looking or reading to consider the same."
"This place has been great! Been here a week now. 4/5 for the things that were not fixed. The master toilet doesn’t work properly as you need to hold the handle down for a few seconds (5-7) for it to properly flush. Second bathroom does not do that. It would seem this unit got new blinds. On the door to the balcony there are some that cannot connect to the holder at the bottom of the door. Any time it’s opened the blinds will clank against the door as it can’t fit in the holder. The built in desk is VERY loose as the wood holding it looks to be worn out. There’s some left over holes in the wall but some are where I need them to be. Other than that this unit is wonderful! It was clean when I moved in, Andrea helped me make sure it’s smooth. Waiting to hear back for a covered car port but other then that, I’m very pleased. EDIT: Been here for a few months now. Newest things, power has gone out multiple times within that time frame. Plan for that if you are going to stay here. It is out as of right now writing this. The dryer had so much lint in it I would almost say it was a hazard. But they came pretty quickly to fix that. Ants seem to of been building a nest in my window. Window also has a hole on the inner side of the wall. Been communicating that with the office and they have been good getting back with me on when that’ll be fixed up. Pest control did leave my door unlocked so wasn’t thrilled about that. Still not a bad place over all to live."
"So far so good. There were a few issues after the move in, but Andrea was very helpful and communicative with those matters and she's been awesome. Which at my previous place service was something that i never really got. Currently in the newer 2 bed 2 bath and it's definitely worth the price over other apartments I've looked at. Very spacious and comfortable. I love the Smart Rent technology which helps control the locks, and set a schedule for the AC, which helps with the electric bills. Very nice community and the staff does a great job with keeping it clean and the landscaping. People here are friendly. No issues with people blasting music from their vehicles or blasting music outside during late night hours. It's in a pretty safe area, and haven't had any feelings like someone would break into my vehicle. Also i love the location of the complex, just a 5 min drive from downtown Roanoke, and easy access to the highways. For once I'm glad to call an apartment home."
