"Our experience with Connection Wellness in Keller was truly life-changing for me and my 12-year-old son. My son had been suffering from depression and anxiety, and it got to the point of him making suicidal threats, even at school. I had to take him to Cook Children's for assessment because I didn't know what to do. They gave me recommendations for PHP/IOP programs, and Connections Wellness was one of them. After researching all the recommendations and their reviews, I decided to put my son into Connections Wellness. I'm so glad I did! Everyone was so kind, compassionate, and ready to help from day one. The Medical Director and providers did a thorough assessment, and they guided us through every step of the process, providing us with personalized treatment options and a sense of hope! My son's first few weeks were pretty bumpy because my son was overwhelmed and so full of anger and sadness. His personal experience was a worse-before-better process. I even doubted my decision to put him in PHP/IOP, but I'm so glad I trusted the process and let the staff do what they were trained to do. My son had a whole care team. The nurses, Jill and Mercedes, were AMAZING. They would contact me with updates and concerns and were quick to help with prescription needs or any questions I had. My son had group therapy sessions within his age group, 1:1 therapy sessions, with Brandi, who was WONDERFUL. Brandi would contact me with updates, concerns, or recommendations. Brandi was always quick to respond (in between her sessions) if I had any questions. My son also had daily classroom time with Ms. Abby & Ms. Amy to work on school assignments. They were both WONDERFUL. He also had art therapy with DeDe, and she is super sweet. Even Ellyse at the front desk is a sweetheart. I'm beyond grateful for everyone and the care my son received at Wellness Connections. My son is thriving now! I can't tell you how much it warms this mama's heart to see her son smile, laugh and enjoy life again."

"5 stars for the therapist, 0 for quite literally EVERYONE else. I gave all appropriate information, and was told I was “100% covered by insurance, no cost to the patient” so I proceeded to schedule weekly appointments, then a month later I am told oh no actually you owe $75 each appointment. I was even told I would be refunded (on a recorded line) bc they charged my card with no notice or statements? Still can’t see a statement? still not refunded for them lying about appointment costs. Now I owe them $150 for their miscommunication. Which is all documented by the way!!! Timestamps, names and everything. I would’ve never had back to back weekly appointments if I would’ve known how much money they would actually be. UNREAL. for a place that’s supposed to care about mental health, they have made it unbelievably WORSE."

"First off let me start by saying I wished I would have heard about connections wellness YEARS ago, my son would have never ever suffered for as long as he did! Second I must commend Ms. Brandi for a JOB WELL DONE! You have no idea how much you have touched this mama heart for bringing light back into my child's darkness! Second off Ms. Abbey Thank you for all your support and guidance during classwork time! Thank you to Liz, Nurse Jill and Nurse Mercedes for the continuous support with medication management! I am telling you if you have a child mentally suffering or struggling this is the place for you! I will recommend Connections Wellness for mental health struggles in children till the day the good lord calls me home! The photos attached show the happiness back into my child, the twinkle to his little eyes and most of all his beautiful smile and goofiness is back as well! DONT THINK TWICE ON THIS PROGRAM!! MAKE THE MOVE NOW TO SEE AMAZING RESULTS WITH YOUR CHILD/REN"

"Please beware - CWG in Keller is not a safe environment for your troubled children. Brandi Read, the therapist your child will be spending the majority of their time with, is unable to regulate her own emotions and has no business working with fragile children. My daughter attended CWG for 7 weeks and at 6 weeks, I emailed Brandi with some concerns I was having and asked if some specific behaviors were being addressed. She responded with the suggestion that I add additional therapy for my daughter (which seemed ridiculous considering we had taken her out of school and she was spending 30 hours per week at CWG). She then proceeded to bring up my PRIVATE email in a group setting to shame my daughter in front of all the other children and referred to her as being “always negative.” My daughter was unaware that I had even emailed Brandi with my concerns and was embarrassed and confused to be spoken to that way by her “therapist.” After this interaction, another child chimed in that she liked watching Bluey everyday (a separate issue was the excessive time spent watching shows vs receiving help) and Brandi’s response was, “Thank you for saying that. Maybe I won’t quit my job today.” I immediately contacted her superior and had my daughter removed after learning of this interaction. Brandi admitted to having said these things, but no disciplinary action was taken and she is still employed there, so obviously CWG has a very low standard for the behavior of their staff if they will allow someone who interacts this way to continue working with kids who are struggling and putting them at risk for further damage."

"The program is set up well and the facility is nice. They offer transportation and education resources. The therapists and providers are very caring and accommodating but didn't seem to have a lot of individual experience. The program did not work well for my daughter though. She learned coping mechanisms and was able implement these while in group but reverted immediately back to her previous behaviors at home. She was in the program 3 months and during that time her medication was changed 4 times and still discharged without access to adequate resources for follow up. The staff and patients were plagued with illness several times interrupting progress due to mandated testing and quarantine, but that was out of anyone's control. There is no transitional program set up so if you don't already have a therapist or psychiatrist (we didn't because of an insurance change) you are on your own after discharge. I didn't understand this going in. I thought that the patients would continue seeing their therapist at decreasing intervals when completing the IOP or PHP. We were given a few contacts from our therapist but we're not even able to get those providers to respond to emails. We are having such a hard time finding an in person therapist. I feel like we are starting all over again with her. He depression is worsening because she misses her therapist from CWG. This type of program is very much needed for kiddos with mental health issues but could be improved upon greatly. There is only one other program like this one that I am aware of in the area and we may need to try that one to see if they can offer better results. Our insurance offers care management but unfortunately were only able to offer 2 contacts for psychiatrists! I really wanted this program to work for us but I feel even more helpless right now and my daughter seems worse than before."
