"Stephanie (coordinator) and Miguel (installer) made what could have been an overwhelming process easy and concise. Miguel was clear and thorough in communicating what changes needed to be made during the install to better work in our space with our design. The cabinets are sturdy and very level. We’re very happy with this install. Multiple other contractors have commented how well installed the cabinets were."

"We can’t say enough positive things about Hudson and his team! He came highly recommended for our Ikea install, and from the beginning, he was incredibly helpful and quick to respond. We had to push out our install date and did so with no issue. They were quick and efficient but executed everything perfectly (demoed our kitchen and installed cabinets in 2 days). They were on time, extremely organized, and kept the house clean before, during, and after. During the install, Hudson was communicative and transparent about situations that came up and what our options were (we have a 50+ year old house, so things are a bit uneven). He definitely has a perfectionist eye, which is so appreciated, and he made sure that everything was installed precisely. Would absolutely choose to work with him again on any other potential projects!"

"Huge shout out to kitchen By Design we had one week in Grand Prairie to get this kitchen installed and they had no available dates for a month out. Kitchen By Design was able to squeeze us in on such short notice. Miguel and crew came on Saturday he was extremely knowledgeable on ikea kitchens , he was able to solve every issue that came up , our kitchen came out beautifully. We will be using kitchen By Design for future projects."

"I have to admit that I was a bit nervous booking my kitchen remodel with KBD, simply because, when I did, they had no reviews anywhere on the internet.  But they were recommended by the IKEA kitchen design firm I used, IKD (Inspired Kitchen Design), so I went ahead and booked.  TLDR: We were utterly thrilled with the cabinets once they were installed, but wished we knew a few things beforehand. KBD can act as a full service design and install contractor, or you can hire them just to assemble and install IKEA cabinets, if your design was done by someone else like IKEA or IKD.  This is why a basic assemble-and-install quote from them was under $3k for my kitchen (LOTS of cabinets), whereas a kitchen remodeler wanted over $25k.  (Keep in mind that $25k price included demolition, plumbing, electrical, countertops, backsplash, plus the $7k we paid for the cabinets.)  If you're a handy DIYer, you can save thousands by using KBD, but understand that you'll be doing much of it yourself (or contract your own handyman for plumbing and electrical), and you need to be prepared for them when they arrive.  The following tips will ensure a headache and surprise free experience with KBD: 1. Demo yourself, if you can. At a minimum, move your appliances out of the kitchen (ours got damaged when the installers moved them), and have your plumbing cut and capped, to facilitate proper removal and installation of the new sink cabinet. KBD does offer demo and haul-away, but it didn't work in our situation and we had to haul-away ourselves, and had already done most of the demo to give me time to do electrical and plumbing work.  They do NOT do electrical or plumbing, if you've hired them for cabinet install, but they can install under-cabinet lighting, if it's from IKEA, and the electrical is already in place. 2.  Roll with the punches. Miguel, the amazing installer, made some change suggestions to the original IKD design that gave me more cabinet space, saved me money, and looked better, but it entailed several trips to both IKEAs (and an overnight trip to the ones in Austin & San Antonio) during installation. I could have nixed the changes he suggested, or extended the installation schedule (which would come at a fee) but I'm VERY happy I didn't. If KBD does your initial design, they do the measurements themselves, and handle any extra ordering and pickup of materials if anything more is needed. 3.  Expect it to take about 1 day for every $1k in your quote. Going back over our emails, they never actually quoted me a timeline, and I had scheduled countertop measurements for 2 days after the install date. Don't do that. While my base cabinets were in place, and my installer said he works around countertop contractors all the time, my countertop people insisted on having the space to themselves, and I had to pay for them to come back later because the installers were still finishing up when the templaters arrived.  Give yourself an extra day or 2 of padding before scheduling templates. The finished product is utterly spectacular, and we are SO thrilled!  Paying less than $3k for cabinet install, and doing the rest ourselves, saved us SO much money. (Over $10k!) KBD is a fantastic resource for skilled DIYers to have their cabinets professionally installed, and save a bundle...or you can hire them to do everything from measuring and design to completing the job from start to finish as a full service general contractor. Not many companies offer that kind of flexibility."
