Padre South Hotel

"We enjoyed our stay at Padre South Hotel very much. Our kitchenette was just as advertised and for a good price for 9 nights. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The hotel is kept very clean clean and fresh. We liked that we could have a full sized fridge, microwave, and a kitchen stove. Also the hotel is close to the beach, as advertised!"

"Overall enjoyed my stay. Small, minor issues but nothing major. Toilet was busted and needed to be manually flushed from the back, and the floors are very thin making trying to sleep tough with a large family above me. But overall I liked the room and the location. Especially liked the balconies with ocean views."

"I cannot say enough good things about this hotel completely exceeded my expectations! Was my first time at south padre island and staying here made it all the more memorable! Had a beautiful view from the balcony outside my room and loved watching the sunrise every morning, has beach access, also has a pool and hot tub, continental breakfast on weekends, some of the cleanest and spacious rooms I've ever been in, conveniently located within walking distance of many delicious restaurants and attractions on the island, and most of all the very friendly and professional staff who helped make my stay a very memorable experience! I look forward to staying at Padre South next time and highly recommend to anyone staying on the island!"

"This was my first trip to South Padre Island and I chose the Padre South Hotel as I was able to book a whole week for the same price as a couple of nights at one of the resort hotels. This hotel was built in the 70's and is located right on the beach but as some reviews have indicated is somewhat dated. In speaking with Mario who is the new head of maintenance they are working on renovating the hotel and guest rooms. My room was clean and comfortable and had newer carpeting, sofa, air conditioning unit and flat screen TV. It was nice having a full size refrigerator, microwave & stove and I found no bugs during my stay although the bathroom was in need of an upgrade. The staff were wonderful especially Hector at the front desk who recommended some great restaurants and Lilia In housekeeping who did the best job of cleaning my room. This hotel is right on the beach, has great views from the balconies and is walking distance to several bars & restaurants. It was a great choice for my week-long stay and I definitely plan on returning!"
