"Be very weary when purchasing products from this company that are supposed to be covered by the additional protection plan. I purchased a valued $349.99 Lifetime 50' All-Star Portable Basketball Hoop in July. It was highly recommended by the sales representatives that assisted me in adding the protection plan. I was not informed of any minimal or limited protection on the coverage. Nor did the company that provided the protection plan state any limitations as to what will be covered in case it was damaged. I gave the cashier my telephone number and paid in full, along with the coverage. Last week, the kids were dunking on the basketball hoop, and the steel pole bent from the screws. I immediately submitted the claim online through Asurion and was denied. They stated that the damage caused was not accidental. What else do you do with a 10 ft basketball hoop and teenagers who play school sports? I then contacted DSG and spoke with a manager, who told me to bring in the merchandise for an exchange. I had the boys break the hoop down and placed in the vehicle. The following day, I went to this location after speaking with the manager prior. The mgr I spoke to was gone for the day. However, another was on duty, and I explained the situation. He, too, agreed to exchange the item. I had a screenshot copy of the receipt on my phone from my original submission to Asurion. Unfortunately, DSG stated they needed the receipt to reflect the bar code at the bottom of the receipt for the return. I tried to retrieve the receipt from my account. It was not available because they stated it only lasts 90 days. That information was false because a purchase that I made more than 90 days ago was still available on my account. I decided to contact DSG today and inform them to keep the broken basketball hoop, and I will not render my services to a company that offers false information. They too said that because the kids were dunking on the hoop, the hoop would not be covered by the insurance. That disclaimer needs to be stated. I will be contacting legal services to look into this matter and the BBB. In the future, I will definitely purchase such products with a more reputable company that actually values their customers and their products. Update: After contacting headquarters, I must say, this should have never happened. It was a pleasure speaking with the customer service representative. She upgraded my call immediately, and it was handled very professionally and apologetically. I was able to receive a copy of my receipt via email (no bar code) and returned to the original store of purchase. The manager that I spoke with the first time was present, and he apologized as well because he was not present during the initial return. The employees on the day shift knew exactly how to handle a no receipt return (though I had mine). I learned that I had the one year sdditional protection plan, but the merchandise is also covered under the one year manufacturer warranty. I am very thankful to have resolved this problem. The kids/neighbors are enjoying the hoop!"

"10/11/23 @ 930am Need more customer service training in the shoe department. Don’t just hand customers shoes and walk off. Wait to see if they fit? If they have any questions about the shoe, or maybe customer might need a different size? Horrible."
