"Long story short, spouse bought an item from them when they were at a local trade show, but it turned out to not be what she wanted. Tried to return it at the store and they only offer store credit, no refunds. I get the whole "store credit" idea as it means the owners want you to come back and hopefully spend more. The truth is, the customer is now mad and you have lost them as a returning customer along with any potential sales, so the refund value would have been a lot less. Most businesses understand this and offer either store credit or a refund."
