"My air conditioner wasn't cooling so the technician came out and said it was likely that I had a leak somewhere. He charged $1200 for finding the leak and 5 lbs of refrigerant! I should have received a 10% discount for being an A1Air member but he refused to do that. He also told me I needed to have the coils replaced and was going to charge an additional $4500 for that. I told him I needed to wait to figure out how to pay for it and he was very rude and said "most people finance but whatever". He then told me that I needed an entire system. He was very loud, abrasive and pushy with everything he said. I told him I would call back to schedule the coils but I needed to think about it first. He said he was going to order the job even though I had not confirmed I would do it. I got a second opinion and they told me that he didn't put enough refrigerant in the system and that it should have received 2-3 more pounds than what he did. I also found out that most companies do not charge a fee for finding the leak! I was completely overcharged!"

"I had a system installed 6 years ago. It was a great experience. Move forward to today. Due to a manufacturing mess up some wires in my system burned up: I called this morning to ask if my system was under warranty.they informed me yes, my system and labor was under warranty. All I would have to pay is the 99 dollar service call. tech comes out and he’s great, personable and handles everything: gets finished starts working on paperwork and tells me it’s going to be 541 dollars that my system is under warranty but not labor. I call the office and get Kerry on the phone. She also informs me that labor and system is under warranty. A few minutes later she corrects herself. They then find my System is under warranty but the labor is not. So 2different phone workers told me it was warrantied. I have a secondary warranty that would have covered the cost of labor had I been informed properly on what the cost would be I then spoke to downer and he was rude and made idle threats about police being called and yelled at me over the phone. There was zero customer relations and zero attempt at being responsible for their own team making the mistake they did. I am going to the better business borough with all of this information. And until I talk with someone with authority and reason at a1 air there will nott be resolution"

"I will give them 2 stars. One for being very good about calling and letting me know that the unit that was installed two years ago needed to be serviced. I did receive a call after confirming my appointment that I could have a free electrical and plumbing inspection… that made me a bit nervous because that screams we need money… Another star for calling and reminding me about appointment and letting me know when they were in route. I was under the impression I was paying for a maintenance call where they would rinse off the outside unit and check the inside unit.. well a technician called to tell me the outside unit was filthy. They could clean it for the tune of $495. I think he was going to sell me on some other product but I was like I can hose down my own u it for less money. I was like that is unethically high. My mom is a senior and I think they can come in and overcharge her for services she may not need. I will no longer use A 1 and will stick with our trusted AC company that we use."

"Hello A-1, I thank you for tech Frank Perez he is the only tech who was very attentive. Mr. Perez walked me through everything. I have been an A-1 customer for many years. Mr. Perez was very knowledgeable and knew his job. He was also very pleased. I just like to acknowledge a person when they do a good job."

"From the time Frank walked into my home til the time he left he was so respectful and pleasant. I really appreciate how informative he was about the services needed for my unit and the importance of keeping up the maintenance. I trust he was being open and honest and didn't feel like he was trying to rip me off . I valued what he expressed and I will be calling to get those repairs done. Thank you Frank!"
