The Summit at Ridgewood Apartments & Townhomes

"My boyfriend currently resides in these apartments and he is EXTREMELY asthmatic. I live about an hour away but come very often to stay with him. For the past couple of months, every time i come I am having to clean mold up and it keeps coming back. (It states in the lease you are required to attempt to clean it yourself but my boyfriend is unable to do so due to his health so I do it.) He has informed the office about this and even put in a maintenance request monday (2/19/24) and yet NOTHING! He has gone down to the leasing office EVERYDAY, and stacey was absolutely no help to him. his mother has called and I have called. When i called the office I informed her of how i am very sick just from the time i visit. I am throwing up blood, I am extremely ill. I also informed her that my boyfriend has gone to the hospital for his chest and his asthma and all she could say to me was that she would let her service manager know, i said okay, then she said bye and hung up. This is a VERY SERIOUS matter as to my boyfriend could potentially die because of this. EVERYDAY he has went to the office and they say the say thing “well send someone to check” “our maintenance team is out” “the mold is in your lease which you signed”. They DO NOT CARE. My next option is going to the board of health. Due to him being around the mold so much , he became extremely ill and fell behind on rent so every month he receives a paper that states “ 30 days pay rent or quit and surrender the premises “. So since they fail to come fix this mold issue and is not taking his life and his health SERIOUSLY. He was going to just pay what was respectfully owed and he was going to surrender the premises (which states he could do so on the 30 day notice). So we go to the office today & they tell him he’s responsible for ALL the rent until the lease is up OR Until someone rents the property and then he would still be responsible for any differential rent rates. Then they mention a “BUYOUT” option which they said he could pay what he owed , ALL of march (he was going to leave before then) + march utilities. PLUS a early lease termination fee of 1030. so in total from them giving him the 30 day notice or surrender the premises he has to pay 3,518.00 . He is forced to stay in that apartment and GOD knows what could happen at any moment if he is alone . These people only care about their money. They also completed a work order for something which was not completed. The lease he is in is VERY MESSY. These people only care about their money. Please listen to other reviews. It was someone outside protesting about mice! Then they have the audacity to ask would he consider staying if the mold wasn’t in here. NO HES NOT! why? because they didn’t take his health seriously and they still aren’t and it shouldn’t have took all this and so long after he showed them the pictures how it was growing and how much was in the apartment. He isn’t able to stay in the apartment yet is expected to either stay and pay 1,300 + utilities or pay 3,518.00 just to leave. I’ve never seen a worse apartment complex in my LIFE. Please don’t try to respond saying to contact you , he’s been contacting for days and has spoken with you. VERY SHADY! If you care about you or your family do not go to this apartment place! ALSO : it took him to come talk to you about moving forward with him surrendering the premises for you to even schedule the contractor to come out."

"There is a roach problem from the day we moved in. Had them sprayed and no more bugs. But for some reason the bug people keep coming unannounced and leaving appliances pulled out and things moved. When we tried to call two days in a row got no answer. Overall, not a great community of people or environment. Everything is always a problem with someone"

"This place is a mess. The cops are called often. I've had to make three calls since I came in March, there were mice, roaches. Maintenance has been requested multiple times and nothing has been done. Do not come here. For your own sanity, don't. OH! AND A BIG ONE. There's no ventilation system in the kitchen. When you try to cook, be prepared for a lot of smoke and the fire defector to go off every time you light the stove."

"Shout out to Eric the awesome maintenance guy! He got here quick and answered all of our questions and got the job done really fast too. He promised to check back in on our issue as well. Best service my fiancé and I have experienced since moving in!"

"We traveled out of state to tour this place, setting up the tour almost a month ago. When we got there, a lady was arguing with who looked like the groundskeepers in their golf carts about rats and air conditioning units right in front of the future resident parking space. Whatever, people have bad days. We go into the leasing office, and the same lady comes in after us saying that they’re closed until 1pm today. We say that we have multiple email confirmations for an appointment at 9am and showed her the email. She said that there were no staff to give us a tour and that we should’ve gotten a cancellation email (we never did). She asks if there was a better time this week, and we said no because we’re out of state. She responds with “Oh, well then you’ll just want to check out our virtual tours online.” Which we could’ve done without traveling 7+ hours and getting a hotel if we had known that we wouldn’t be able to tour. She didn’t apologize once and had an “Oh well, sucks for you” attitude. It’s safe to say that we will not be considering this place anymore and do not recommend that anyone wastes their time trying to look into it. They have a really nice dog park though lol."
