Mountain View Apartments

"Great application process, friendly staff, well kept grounds, quiet neighborhood and nice apartments. However, if you're looking to lease at Mountain View, I would highly advise an upstairs unit. I unfortunately made the decision to live downstairs because it has never been an issue at past apts.The walls are extremely thin here and you can hear the ceiling creak and thud with every move your upstairs neighbors takes, every cabinet or door slam, and every conversation. While I can agree most apartment walls are generally thin, it seems like no sound proofing measures were taken when these apts were built. I just moved in Nov. 2023 and have not had a peaceful night so far; it's either i'm waken up by thudding foot steps or being prevented from fall asleep due to footsteps. There’s no since in reporting to the leasing office, as my upstairs neighbors aren’t doing anything extravagant or being obnoxious, they are simply just living, and you can’t tell someone who also pays rent to stop walking, opening cabinets, or talking. It’s not a neighbor problem, rather it’s an infrastructure problem. I’m incredibly sensitive to noises due to health conditions/migraines. At the price point of the apartments, I never would have assumed this would be an issue to this extent… I would have never signed a lease. It may not be a big deal to some, but for those big on quietness, I would look somewhere else. Otherwise, good apartments and I would 100% have had intentions to resign lease in a year if the walls weren't an issue."

"Mountain View’s has not been the same since Amberlyn left. If you are of color do not move here you will be treated unfairly."

"I lived at Mountain View apartments from 2018-2020 and then again in 2023. I had a great experience both times! The grounds are well maintained, neighbors are quiet, maintenance is punctual, and staff are always ready to help. Both my apartments were clean when I first moved in and everything was in working order. Anytime I called maintenance, they either came later that day or the next morning. The community feels safe and I’ve never heard any noise from neighbors. I bought a house in the middle of my 2023 lease and the office has been working to get another tenant in my unit. I thought that was very nice and professional of them. I would definitely recommend Mountain View to anyone looking for an affordable, clean apartment in Tuscaloosa! It’s close to Walmart and several good food spots! Josh and Shelia are both great to work with."

"I have lived at Mountain View Apartments for 8 years and loved every minute of it! All the employees at the apartments are always extremely helpful in every way! The maintenance staff responds to all problems almost instantly (and with a smile). The office staff are like friends and have offered their help when needed. The grounds are always immaculate. I have never had any problems with pest. I always feel safe in and around my apartment! I would recommend these apartments to anyone!"

"The apartment complex as a whole is a great community; they keep the outside looking amazing. I just don’t like how we pay so much for rent and walls are super thin, I feel as if I have no privacy in my own home, I can literally hear my upstairs neighbors conversation, it’s like I can’t even have a conversation on my own phone because my neighbors can hear. I love the security they do their jobs very well . I wouldn’t say it’s all the way worth it for what I’m paying . I definitely will be getting a house next, just very uncomfortable in my own home, like I can’t even have company."
