"I’ve loved this store for years. Sadly, I made my last trip today. I brought my mother, who has Alzheimer’s Disease, to shop for Christmas gifts for her friends. Admittedly, it is a Saturday and I was unaware that the store closed at 3:00. We arrived at 2:55 and had over $100 worth of merchandise ready to check out at 3:03 at the register. Which is no small feat in shopping with my mother who takes extra time to make decisions. We couldn’t have been treated more rudely by the weekend staff. They made a point- repeatedly- to mention that they closed at 3:00 and the registers were “already closed” they needed to “get on with their weekend at some point” etc. They talked back and forth in front of us about their plans post-closing, acting very put out by us being there. We asked politely if they could gift wrap our merchandise, and were told that we could be given tissue and a bag to do it on our own. In a time where it must be so important to drive “shopping small” post-Covid, I would have expected that our purchase meant a little more to the store. I would rather shop online any day than experience what we did today. I hope you can eventually do better, Five Gold Monkeys."
"Way too pricey on similar items you can get at Wayfair or Home Good. A ceramic topiary 6 inch piece should never cost over $600. You're not Park Avenue or Beverely Hills."
