"Last night we had dinner at this new spot in west Madison. Overall highly recommend it! The margaritas are very well made, not syrupy, you can tell it’s real ingredients. The street corn is a great appetizer with a lot of flavor and will make elote fans happy. They have someone making fresh tortillas daily for their mix of tacos. Then the freshly made churo will definitely be a hit. Brand new place run by a set of brothers with a great story, you can tell this place is a labor of love. They are new and probably still setting some things up and getting things organized, but this a great addition to Madison and worth giving it a try."

"Wife and I took the girls to Barrio Modern Mexican Cuisine last night, newly opened off Huntsville Brownsferry Road here in Madison and the food is AMAZING—worth every penny and above and beyond the other Mexican restaurants in the area! Our family won’t be going anywhere but here from now on. The masa tortillas are made fresh daily from scratch as was the tres leches and everything else we sampled. All of their ingredients are fresh, not one component is from a can. I’ve seen a few folks comment $20 for three tacos is steep but you get what you pay for, and these are NOT your average tacos at all! I chose the pork belly, shrimp, and chicken for my three and each one was delectable. Kid had the carnitas. Wife had the enchiladas. Everything is made in house from scratch and the flavors were out of this world! This is a family business — the Chef and his family moved here recently from California where he ran restaurants in the Los Angeles area. His wife, brother, and children were all there last night. It warmed our hearts. Chef Justin Haefler came out and talked to us about his history as a chef, their family recipes and their vision for elevating Mexican food in the area. I strongly recommend you give them a try before there is a waiting list on the weekends! This place is GREAT! Support a family business and military-family owned business and welcome them to Madison!"

"This restaurant was an absolute delight! The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and provided exceptional service. The food was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. I'll certainly return; this first visit was thoroughly enjoyable. It was a spontaneous outing with a friend, and we had a wonderful time! And I must add, the dessert was simply irresistible! 2 / 2"

"Stopped in here during the soft opening phase after driving by and seeing that they were open. • Wait to be seated by staff • Pay with server. Scan to pay available. • Service was good, waiter Eldwin was attentive and polite • The food was great! Wasn’t sure what ‘Modern Mexican Cuisine’ entailed but we enjoyed everything aside from the rice and beans. • The handcrafted cocktail menu looked like there will be some great drinks, but they’re waiting on their liquor license for now, so no alcohol. • Owners/Chef introduced themselves and checked on us. We will return!"
