"Sutton club apartments. I like living here, second floor, beautiful balconies. Office and maintenance is fairly attentive and easily accessible. Only downside, Honda and Kia thefts that have been happening around GR have happened once while living here."

"Sutton Club Apartments is by far the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. I lived here many years ago and then moved overseas. After multiple years overseas and then out of state, when I returned to Grand Rapids, I knew this is where I wanted to live once again. Spacious apartments with extra large balconies, appliances in good working order, and a staff that is amazing. Sutton Club is a place to call home, not a "party" complex. It is a quiet and relaxed environment with nice amenities (pool, weight room, community building) that are well taken care of. Before Covid, Elaine and Marsha, the office team, planned gatherings / dinners for residents. During Covid, they and the maintenance team (Terry and Mike) would personally clean the buildings multiple times a day (at least 4?) to do everything they could to keep residents healthy. During these challenging times, they still reach out to residents and provide "perks" to let residents know they are appreciated, even in the midst of challenges that they too, may be facing. Maintenance is friendly, prompt and skilled. The staff here are some of the kindest people I've ever met and will go above and beyond for residents. I have no plans to move again, as I am finally home."

"I lived at Sutton Club for 1.5 years. Below is my opinion of the experience there. Pros: - buildings were well maintained - maintenance was fairly prompt - grounds were well kept and cleared in the winter Cons: - I found the office staff to be short and somewhat rude - some of the rules in the lease are petty and restrictive. - no gas, propane, charcoal, etc grills on the decks, - paraphrasing the lease: 'If Resident would like to add drapery, valances, or window scarves it must not be seen from the outside... Management has the right to exclude window treatment... - we got a letter because we had blackout curtains that could be seen when the blinds were open since vertical blinds block very little light (ironically, there were visible blinds below us in the unit used for showings) - the office's hours are 9-5 Mon-Fri. While this is not a huge deal for some, when you work the same hours at a regular job, it makes getting anything from the office or getting in to talk to someone absolutely impossible. At other places I've lived there have been at least some weekday late hours or Sat hours. - When I left, the apartment was clean and in good condition. They only returned $15 of my deposit, with no written list of damages. Know your rights! If your full deposit isn't returned, they must provide a full list of damages, and you only have 7 days to contest it!! They made no mention of this when they sent our partial deposit back (no surprise). TLDR; The apartments are fine, but the office staff is up-tight and can make living there less pleasant if you don't adhere rigidly to their timelines. I don't recommend this place, and in my opinion the cost of rent is not justified by the quality of the apartments ."

"I lived at Sutton Club for seven years and it was an awesome experience. The staff and maintenance are top notch. The office staff is very professional and extremely helpful. Excellent communication with the tenants. I can't praise the maintenance staff enough: dependable, consistent, competent, fast turnaround time for issues and very friendly. Sutton Club was truly a safe clean home."
