"I attempted suicide in mid August of 2023. I went to Oaklawn for an initial assessment at the start of September 2023. I was told I had to attend a 12 week support group before receiving individual therapy. It’s now the end of January 2024. I’ve been calling every week and can’t get a call back. It shouldn’t take 6 months to get into a support group!"

"I was told the only way I can receive help was to attend groups how can you do so if your suffering high anxiety stress depression and yet no help with getting a one on one therapist.i was told sense I don't want to do groups go elsewhere."

"I only stay here because Dr. Kramer if not for him I’d be gone. A couple years ago I had counseling quickly racked up a $1,000 balance because every time I checked in no had the courtesy to let me know insurance wasn’t covering the provider/counselor I was seeing/ talking to. When I met with McKenna she never apologized…. nothing. I work in health care we would never let someone’s balance get that high with out letting them know talk about making someone more depressed when it’s a psychiatric center it’s crazy"

"Terrible. I was forced here. I received NO therapy, was forced to be part of "social circles" because it would 'get me out earlier. Wasn't allowed outside a single time in the week I was there. Forced to spend group time with patients that are suffering from far worse mental health issues. If anything, this place traumatic. Do not go here. Do not send anyone you love here. Get them REAL therapy instead."

"I would recommend no one to go to this place or any other Oaklawn facility for that matter. On multiple occasions I've been lied to, misinformed, and denied information that is considered crucial to me. Not only has it taken more than 7 months on a waiting list for a counselor they said would contact me within 30 days for individual counseling, still wondering if I'll ever get that call but probably not. Another incident happened recently though where I was asked to take a drug/alcohol screening for corresponding classes in accordance to other matters. Anyways, I take ADHD medication daily, and they called and send I failed for Methamphetamine and they ran it multiple times in their lab and know it has to be that. However, when I asked them further questions they had no logical answers and were unable to provide me with adequate documentation. The lady, Carol, even went as far to say I was a liar and said she'll help me once I start being honest with her. This place is a joke, and no one in a psychiatric crisis or seeking any other form of mental health or substance abuse issued should never go here it'll just make it that much worse for you. STAY CLEAR OF ANY OAKLAWN, THEY ARE FRAUDS WHO ARE PREYING ON PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES JUST FOR A DOLLAR IN THEIR POCKETS."
