"Tried to simply get a membership started. I went in to ask simple questions “what time is the kid zone open” I KNOW the fees and that it’s only 2 hours… KIM at the front desk apparently had a long reception day because she stated “I’ll give you ALL the information and tell you when it’s open at the end” just rude for absolutely no reason. I literally just wanted to get into the gym, she wanted to force a full conversion. Customer service here stinks with Kim in the lobby."

"What can I say about the YMCA, great family environment, the staff is always helpful, and the place is usually buzzing with people from all walks of life throughout the Kalamazoo area. Best place in the city to work out, fellowship, and get a nice swim or hot tub in."

"I will start this off with a good note. The facility has nice equipment, a pool, cardio room, and hot tubs. Paying the fees we pay as members should come with a properly ran facility. The steam room in men’s locker room barely ever works. They re painted it and you can already see the grim building up in the steam room. Have you all ever heard of a weekly deep clean??? Whenever I have family in town I have to drive all the way to Grand Rapids because they allow me to bring a guest when the facility I pay my fees to doesn’t. They claim they are at max capacity, but the gym is never crowded. The sauna also seems like it’s never been deep cleaned. For the amount of money you all have rolling in you guys should really be cleaner. Allowing guest should be a given like it is at literally any other facility in America. We pay too much money to have our own family turned down. I am currently looking for a new gym for this exact reason."

"I love the YMCA. The gym is well equipped and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Unique classes are offered - though some require a nominal fee. That said the fencing classes I take with my child are worth every penny. Both Kalamazoo and Portage YMCAs are a fantastic service to our community."
