"Be careful they sometimes overcharge or leave things out of your order. And they don't like giving receipts so you can't prove it. I'd recommend whatever it takes transmission parts on Princeton Glendale rd"

"In December of 2014 my company purchased a "remanufactured" transmission from Transtar. Let me start by saying my company is a national brand transmission repair center....for the most part we rebuild transmissions and employ an ASE Master certified transmission rebuilder who's been building transmissions for my company for 21 years, but in this case the extended warranty company wanted a remanufactured transmission installed. After we finished installing their transmission and filling it with fluid we attempted to put the car in gear...It would not go into any gear at all. While attempting to reprogram the mechatronic valvebody we found that the module was faulty and would not communicate with our scan tool nor would it communicate with a Dealer scanner. Knowing that meant the mechatronic valvebody was defective we reused the original valvebody...It went right into gear, we were able to program it and the vehicle went out okay. To make a long story short 50 miles later the vehicle came back with an extremely hard downshift. Which was diagnosed as an internal transmission problem. We contacted Transtar's "warranty" division who then refused to provide any type of warranty, so obviously this meant we had to fix it ourselves. Upon disassembly of the transmission the failure was found to be a cut seal in one the clutch apply pistons....but more importantly it was noted that the clutches looked used and the steels between the clutches appeared to have been sanded, not something you would expect to find in a 4000 dollar reman transmission. Pictures were taken showing the new steels against the old sanded steels as well as the cause of failure and sent to transtar so they could see what type of product they were selling to their customers.....Plus the cut seal clearly shows that this unit they claimed to be a "dyno tested remanufactured transmission" was never dyno tested,(because it would have failed), and that what they sold me was nothing more than a spray painted used transmission. They still refused any type of warranty coverage or reimbursement for the repair of their "remanufactured" transmission. This all happened over a 2 month period of time."
