"Typically no issues with this provider, until my son had a major asthma exacerbation. My son was seen for a follow up e.r. visit due to an asthma exacerbation. Our family doctor had nothing available until june. She asked if I panicked and over treated him... I said no I follow the pulmonologists advice and monitor for symptoms. Chest retractions, unable to talk walk or breathe, ect. He gets his inhaler and then a call to the pulmonologists office. My son often complains of throat soreness and tightness as well. He has been having issues with asthma since preschool. I always call his pulmonologists office and ask for advice when he gets really bad. I don't like being called a liar and told Im "over-reacting" when my child needs his rescue medication because he was and has been having bouts of frequent respiratory distress. She also said he needs to be in school. You think we don't already know that? Thats why we fought for our child to have an accomodation plan so all teachers and staff were aware of this!!! It's been so bad last week he had an asthma attack in the school parking lot. We are trying to get him to school and it's not for lack of trying. He keeps picking up virus after virus at school which triggers his asthma!!! The school is well aware and so are we along with the rest of my son's healthcare team. Provider doesn't understand viral induced asthma and allergies. We will not be back. Perhaps for basic colds, physicals, simple viral illnesses and issue this provider is good. Previously when we have seen her for these things we have had no issues. I don't like being told I am "over reacting" as well as those in my family, who where there when he had a sudden asthma attack and those that care for him at school are seeing the same things. I guess they are all "over-reacting" too, including his pulmonologist that gave me the advice to treat him accordingly! We are following up with pulmonology and thankfully they were able to get us in earlier because this pediatrician was absolutely no help. I don't like being told I was "over-reacting" when my son was having such increased work of breathing he was unable to talk or walk and having retractions and increased labor breathing, prompting addictional medication and was advised to go to the e.r. by his pulmonologist. But I guess his pulmonologist was wrong!!! Unbelievable. I am reporting this provider to the ombudsman."

"Dr. Prabhakaran saw my son for a well visit, I had concerns for a possible ear infection as well. She did not get a good look at his ears. Proper vital signs were not taken for his visit. They only took down a height, weight and temperature. My pediatrician back home usually gets respirations and his heart rate as well, for his wellness visits."
