"This school has a lot of programs other schools don't have. They give kids a chance to play instruments, sing in the chior, join cheerleading, basketball, and other activities. I also love that it's a melting pot. Which teaches my kids that their are other races and cultures of people."

"The Cleveland Foundation sponsored a study about schools in the City of Cleveland. They reported that this is one of the best ones in Cleveland and found it to be effective. According to the study, the quality of education is comparable to an average suburban school. They need to renovate the building."

"Worst school I've ever dealt with! The front office ladies are rude and can barely speak English so when I call to get answers for things they rarely give me correct info. The principle though new and we thought shed straighten the school up, she hasn't. She let's kids get away with bullying, yelling profanities in the hallways, fighting outside... I've never seen anyone reprimand the children for anything. And the teachers.... There are a few really good teachers here, that truly care about your child and their education... But the rest are Lazy, uncaring and don't ever bother reaching out! Sending kids home with homework they barely went over in class, letting the younger ones get picked on and bullied. I had a child in my sons 1st grade class tell him he was going to "kill him good", he told the teacher, her response? "Tell him next time he will get in trouble for that!". Really?!?!? This place is the biggest joke for a school! I would recommend a rat to nest here, though I'm sure there are plenty already there! If you want your child to get an education, do not send them here!!"

"I miss this school and I miss all the good times I had here. I was here for K-2nd grade. My 1st grade teacher was Ms Zawadski and my 2nd grade teacher was Mrs. Cooke. They were both really nice and helpful teachers abd I learned a lot from them. I know that Cleveland public schools can go through tangents of being really good and then really atrocious but for a Cleveland City school this school really was not bad. Granted I went here a long time ago and I was a little kid when i was a student here then, but this school was much better than many other Cleveland schools that I've gone to. I had an overall good experience at Benjy and I would recommend this school to other families in my neighborhood with elementary school age children looking for schools to send them to."
