"The second worst place I’ve ever lived. The only reason it’s not first is because my Orlando apartment had frequent shootings. I’m currently without power for 6 hours now, maintenance was supposed to show up on the 11th for work. They showed up on the 17th and wanted to work while neither myself nor my spouse was home. Not cool. When I refused they gave me less than 24 hours notice that they would be back. So they didn’t show up as scheduled (scheduled by them) on the 11th. And now I can’t get someone to cover my shift for the 18th because of the late notice. They showed up today, rude as usual, two of the “workers” were talking to friends/or someone on speakerphone. This lasted for two hours until I got annoyed and purposefully turned on some music. They showed no respect for my apartment or belongings. I told them about my cats needing to stay outside and as if he was deliberately doing so, one of the workers opened the door for the screen porch and let them in. I kid you not he waited while they walked in. So after 5 hours with no electricity and all of this, they leave without saying a word. Still no power. 30 minutes goes by and I’ve had enough, I go to find the workers and they’re outside eating lunch. I asked them when my power would be back on and one of them just shrugged and said “I’m on break”. So in response to my food spoiling and my apartment being 90 degrees I got a shrug. I went to the main office at 1:20pm on a Tuesday. They had a sign that said “we’ll be back at 10:30am”! Gotta love that Horizons North attention to detail. I knocked on the door to no response. I knocked harder and the office worker came out and was mad at me and accused me of kicking the door. I’m used to this gaslighting tactic, so I record all my interactions. I told him I didn’t kick the door and I have it on film to which he quickly changed the subject and said he would call electricians, quickly closing the door (still not adjusting the be back time) and retreating to his office to avoid any sort of responsibility or confrontation. This is horizons north. It has now been another 30 minutes and the original workers haven’t shown up from their hour long lunch break. No electrician. No ac. No power. Fridge getting hotter and hotter. If you want to support people who don’t care about their community, if you want to move in to an apartment that didn’t have working WiFi connectivity and half of the outlets don’t work, if you like having your neighbors ants crawling through your walls and into your house despite how spotless you keep it, oh and of course if you want to experience gross negligence, then welcome home. I hate it here and cannot wait to move. Also single bedroom rent is in the 2k’s. I have all of this, the workers shrugging and leaving, the manager accusing me of “kicking the door” as a manipulative tactic to make me feel bad for wanting basic amenities and more from this apartment on film too. Elevator was years out of inspection when I moved in. It’s all the little things I guess. Update 2:30, power is back on, everything seems to be done. 7/12 hours. I understand you have a lot of tenants, crazy ones too, believe me I’ve seen people punching the laundry machine because it wouldn’t add money to their card, but they weren’t putting in the card right to begin with. So I can see where the manager might see someone annoyed and assume that they’re just going to waste their time. I’ve always given people respect no matter what, it’s the way I was raised. I work in customer service. You just can’t treat people like that. You can but I promise you, it will make you depressed and bring you down. I hate the fact that I was made to feel like an a@@ for wanting information about when I would have power and also not wanting someone in my apartment without my being there. The truth is we all have so much in common that when it comes down to things like this and it’s so clearly done out of a position of disrespect it’s truly just heartbreaking. I even offered to make coffee/cafacito when they came in. Don’t get it man."

"The application process was quick and easy. I was approved within a day or so. Maria who’s the leasing agent is amazing. She’s been my contact throughout my whole process. I can drop in the office with a concern or just to say hi. She’s always available and pleasant to deal with."

"I rate this place a 6 out of 10 because the prices don't match the insides of the units....things are pricey with very mediocre features in the homes as far as the bathrooms and kitchens. The laundry units on site have extremely small washers and dryers. The rooms are small as well...only the master rooms are a nice size...the other rooms are shoe box sizes. Things are cheaply maintained in the homes. You can tell because of the quality."

"If I could give zero I would. I’ve been waiting for 4 months for my security deposit yet I still have received it. I called the office and they passed me on to the manager and she explained to me that they had over charged me for turning in my keys even after I had paid the whole month. They decided to charge me for leaving the key a couple days before. It’s ridiculous she said she would call me back but till this day I haven’t heard a single word from her. The office did call and say they “tried to send the check but the address wasn’t correct. Not only did I spell it out 5 times I also sent emails to make sure they are sending it to the right address. If you can pick anywhere to live I wouldn’t suggest here. Besides the roaches the management team is almost as bad."
