Playa Apartments in Key Largo

"I was only looking at their website because they advertised their rentals as affordable. I make only 22000 a year as a cook in a restaurant. Affordable to someone like me is 600-800$ a month. Their price? 2,700$$ That is OUTRAGEOUS!! a good deal of the keys residents are in Hospitality. AND WE ARE MERCILESSLY BEING PRICED OUT OF OUR HOMES!! NONE OF US MAKE THE 80,000$ required to pay this MORTGAGE payment. This is OUTRAGEOUS FALSE ADVERTISING!!That was my rant. Have a nice day."

"Honestly, if I could give them 0 stars I would! This is the worst costumer service you will ever experience from a company and on top of that they SCAM you. My husband and I called to ask for info on their apartments, they were so quick to tell us to fill out an application which by the way is about $800 for two people. We filled it out without ever being told that this was a LOW INCOME HOUSING PROPERTY. We didn’t hear anything from their leasing office for about a month and when we kept calling them back to say we had already found a new place they told us, we had not been approved because we ‘make too much money’. We brought it to their attention that this was never told to us to begin with and that we never even received an email confirming that they had received our application. The girl that we were dealing with Deslyn was extremely rude and said she couldn’t do anything about it and that our money would not be refunded. We got in touch with the manager of the property and it went down hill from there. He was even more rude than the first girl and he was nonchalant about the whole situation. He did not care to resolve the problem and he acted as if we were inconveniencing him. We got our money back from the bank as they noticed this company was already under investigation for other FRAUD cases but short after that Playa Apartments sent our balance to collections which we ended up paying for anyways to not have it ruin our credit. This place has done so much damage to my family without us even living there. Their offices are not even in Key Largo, so if you ever want to go in person there’s no one ever there. They never answer their phone calls unless you press the button to direct you to lease an apartment for the first time and they are extremely rude and have 0 costumer service skills and consideration. BE CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE. one way or another they will try to get your money and they won’t give it back. That is part of their scam! Just think about it. This is LOW INCOME HOUSING and they charge $800 for two applications? How can a low income person even afford to apply to place like this? The worst experience ever!! Watch out!"

"The apartments are beautiful inside and out, really the grounds are kept up so nicely. You can't find many places (practically any at all) in the Florida Keys that are affordable, quiet, spacious, and have full unshared working appliances. We hope to rent here for as long as we can. Applications have to go through Monroe County for income verification and restrictions which is time consuming, please be patient in the process if you're looking to rent here. We adore our new home thanks to Deslyn! Thank you so much Deslyn!"

"If you're looking for a place to stay LOOK ELSEWHERE!!! I've tried calling over the past week, I even called them multiple times a day. I left my name and number as requested by the voicemail. But NOT ONCE have I received a call/text back regarding the apartments. This is by far the most unprofessional place in the Florida Keys. Last but certainly not least, if not responding to my previous calls/texts wasn't bad enough you can't even go to the apartments to talk to anybody because it has a gate (which is a plus) with no way to get inside. So to make a long story short you can't speak with anyone about renting an apartment. Also, whoever is SUPPOSED to answer the phones should be FIRED!!!!!! Thank you for your time, NOT!!!"

"I worked with Deslyn through my application process. She was really great with getting back to me about any questions I had. The main delay was from the county approving me for affordable housing or something so I wasn’t able to move in at my expected date but Deslyn was very helpful in keeping me up to date on my application and what phase we were at. Now to just see how the rest of my time here plays out and I hope that it will be as great as my application experience."
