"The worst experience so far. Primarily unprofessional staff. The room where I was staying everything was very old. There is much to say because I am very disappointed, but making a summary I can say is not worth the 3 stars. First of all the windows can not be opened (at room 19) there are two air conditioners but only a functional one that smells horrible when used. The windows are unspoiled for a very long time. The stove is very dirty and can not be used. I asked not to go in the room and when I came from the walk I found walking in the room, then I took all the valuable things with me and I asked to clean in the room what was not done. I DO NOT RECOMMEND . there are many other hotels in the area much more affordable and much cleaner."

"My stay was awesome. I have no complaints at all. My room was nice. I let my daughters sleep on the bed while the hubby and I stayed on the nice big thick futon they had in the room. Perfect location and quiet. I recommend this place. Thanks for a good stay. Will be back."

"Stayed there in January. Dirty place... according to the woman at the front desk, the reason there was hair in our bed was because the cleaning lady just got a new wig. However when she called her (in front of us) to curse her out, it seemed like this was far from the first time. There is no on-site parking as it’s stated on many booking sites. The parking is on the street and looks kind of... sketchy (I live in the Bronx so... yeah). Def wouldn’t recommend it. This building is dirtier than my neighborhood and everything looks like it’s falling apart. Sure the amenities are all technically there but you probably won’t want to use them since you’re not gonna have a comfortable stay."

"The people there are incredibly nice but for the price you're playing the least they can do is be a little bit more diligent with the cleaning. Their bathrooms could use a good scrubbing and they can clean the room a little more also their pots and pans were dirty and the dishes had cracks in them even though they say it's free parking your vehicle get towed on a regular basis and they do nothing about it. It is a nice place in a great location if you can put up with all of that. Stay at your own risk!!"

"So thrilled to have discovered this gem! Situated in a location where we easily left our car and walked or took a short cab ride to several day and night hot spots....awesome that we also could take the free shuttle around downtown. Then add in the great rate and really accommodating and friendly staff so we give Fortuna House a two thumbs up! It's not a traditional hotel with a lobby sort of thing yet the super spacious rooms with their vintage feel and kitchenette where we kept fruit & yogurt for snacks make this place a fab "bang for your buck"!! Extra great rating for cleanliness and fresh not outdated decor. Give it a go - you'll be glad you did! We loved Miami before and now that we've found Fortuna House where we can afford a few nights instead of just one, we'll be heading down more often"
