"Had a bad stay overnight at this property. I stay at Marriott properties frequently and this one is NOT recommended. Turned on shower at 8 am. There is a sign that says to let water run to get hot. I did. After 5 minutes, it was still lukewarm. I took a quick albeit very cool shower. Upon checking out I reported the issue. My business partner who was on a different floor had already reported it. I asked to have a manager call me. Instead I got an email from an unidentified employee saying they checked the room and there was “no issue”. Here’s their exact response. There’s plenty of other hotels nearby. I suggest choosing any of them. “We understand you came down and reported it in the morning, however, the water is functional. Maintenance tested the handle in both directions left and right, but they still concluded the water works. Our operations manager investigated the rooms personally, and concluded the hot water works perfectly fine. After checking out, of course it would be too late to send someone when you already left the room, however, if the issue would've been brought to the front desk at the time it happened, anyone in the building who was available would be more than happy to pass by and take a look so it wouldn't be any more an inconvenience. Your partner also came down and reported the issue, but only after he was done using the room. As for resetting the boiler, our talents informed during the check-out that maintenance was conducted days ago and no major issues have risen after that. There were no opportunities for resolution in this case, so unfortunately, there are no further actions to be made. Kind Regards, Aloft Hotels General Information”"

"Reasonably located, but refurbished in a rush. Rooms are just ok, and air conditioners are old, along with a makeshift workout room. Lobby is welcoming and so is front desk staff. Bar/restaurant staff is inattentive and busy congregating/carrying on socializing in the corner. Later at night, crew is laying down in the lobby watching movies on their phone with no greeting or customer focus. Front desk team is very good, though."

"I don't agree with a lot of the reviews written about Aloft Miami Brickell! I had an amazing experience! I stayed here for a week on business. Staff was incredibly kind, cleaning was done daily on my room and I was always given fresh towels. I never noticed any smells of mildew. I had one of the upgraded rooms on the top floor of the building with the city view. Every night I would sit out on my deck and just enjoyed the city. Room was spacious! I would recommend staying here. Great location, I liked it much better than staying on South Beach. It's also not too far away from South Beach, it only took me about 20 minutes each way to get there."

"The hotel is clean and updated. The front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The room is slightly smaller than I would like for this price point. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are in courtesy containers in the shower. Do not bother buying the "city view" because it's literally just looking out across the street at a large apartment building. The food at the bar seemed to be freezer burnt food heated up in a microwave. The only parking option is valet parking. The cost is $30 a day, but you can come and go as you please. Be cautious that this charge comes out of your $100 deposit. There are several bars and restaurants only a few streets over. I enjoyed my stay, but for this price, I plan to look for other options next time."

"As previous reviews have noted, this hotel is really not up to the standards you would expect from most Marriott properties. The staff are extremely nice at this hotel and check-in was a breeze. The lobby is very nice to hang out in if you want to get out of the room. Also, the pool area is very nice and was pretty empty when I was there. However, the rooms are very spartan And have a very musty smell. Understand that this is Miami, but the humidity was excessive in the rooms and the sheets and bedding were very damp. The location is very nice and you can easily walk to all of the main attractions of Brickell. I would highly recommend that Marriott invest in some better decor and modernizing of the rooms, and then this hotel would definitely deserve more stars. It has a lot of potential."
