Cambria Hotel Miami Airport - Blue Lagoon

"A few people have already mentioned the major issues with this hotel, such as the inadequate condition of the hotel, the outrageously expensive breakfast ($24 USD) and an airport shuttle bus that only runs on a Blue Moon. I waited at the airport for a shuttle bus for over an hour but ended up taking a blue Taxi which cost me an additional $25 USD. The decorations in the room are so dated. To make it worse, it looks like they haven’t been cleaned since purchased. Also, construction to complete upgrades starts at 08:00 AM. Finally the good. The front desk is friendly and helpful, the bed is super comfortable with clean sheets and the hotel provides amazing shampoo."

"Avoid! I waited more than a hour for the airport shuttle and it never came. I had to take a taxi. The rooms are antiquated and have a lingering odour that’s probably trapped in the well used and probably never cleaned fabric furniture. You couldn’t pay me to sit on it. The soap had dirt and hair on it. I suspect the brown shower tiles are masking the grime. At least the bed sheets and towels were clean, but it seems that’s as far as the cleaning goes here. The hotel is under construction and the banging starts at 8am. There’s a $25 per person charge for breakfast which is served in the lobby. I opted to leave early and get a proper breakfast at the airport, which was way cheaper too. The hotel is far from restaurants/stores and quite a distance from the airport. Take my advice and stay at a better hotel."

"Decent hotel with spacious rooms equipped with fridge, microwave, and coffee machine which were ideal and useful for my relatively longer stay. Good lake view in the backyard but room is noisy if you’re overlooking parking lot due to planes taking off and landing at the nearby Miami airport. Room service can be improved a bit, and furniture needs remodeling as it’s pretty much wearing out. Breakfast is very basic and overpriced. I wasn’t very impressed with front desk support. I called to reserve a ride from the airport but I waited more than an hour without pick up. I also asked and followed up a couple of times to change my room to lake view but I was somehow ignored despite reporting my inconvenience about a bad smell in the room. I called Choice Privilege hotels chain to seek their intervention but they were useless unfortunately!"

"I wish I could give this hotel more than five stars. From start to finish, we were extremely impressed. It doesn't have a complimentary continental breakfast, which is a bummer for budget travelers like me, but we had to leave earlier in the morning than most places offer breakfast anyway. Our first surprise started during the free shuttle to the hotel from the airport. I made sure to book a hotel with a free shuttle as we had a roughly 22 hour layover in Miami. The man driving the shuttle explained that they would also take us anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel for free and pick us up for free when we wanted to come back. Wow! Then we arrived at the hotel at 8:00 AM hoping to be able to leave our bags at the desk and explore Miami without our bags. To our surprise, they let us check in for free. Wow! And the room was super clean and very nice. The separate living area with separate TV allowed the kids to watch TV while the parents napped (and we needed it after the overnight flight). Again, wow! After taking advantage of the free shuttle to get lunch and do some shopping, we enjoyed a stroll outside and were thrilled to see some iguanas in the trees around the lake. It was beautiful. This was absolutely the best hotel I can ever remember staying at for all the reasons mentioned above."
