"Good room for the money. Good service at the front desk and bar (friendly/welcoming). - we had friends less than a mile away, so location was great for us."

"Great experience. We were here in January, what some would say is the off season, but we had a great stay. The hotel is a chic resort from the 70's, one of the original spots in Cape Coral. The pool and surrounding courtyard look inviting, the tiki bar has live music and friendly bartenders. Great location, great service. It's Florida! Safe and walkable distance from all of the Cape Coral strips. An easy car ride to other major islands and beaches. We loved our stay."

"We stayed at Dolphin Key recently, for about a week. For the money, it otherwise seemed like a pretty good place, but there was one big problem: After the first day or two, all of the bedding in our unit started to feel damp — the sheets, the comforters, and the pillows. All of our clothing that we had brought was getting damp too. Even our shoes and sneakers were damp inside. The problem continued to get worse and worse, to the point where everything could have probably even been described as wet. The floor was constantly wet too. We realized that this was happening because the bathroom in our unit had no functioning exhaust fan, and the entire unit had no other means for moisture to escape during and after showers. There was a vent plate on the bathroom ceiling, but I honestly don’t know if it was covering a fan or not. There was just one switch on the bathroom wall, and the only thing it turned on was the light. The unit did not have any screened windows that we could have kept open, and there was no screen door. The only time any moisture had a chance to escape was when opened the unit door. We obviously couldn’t keep it open though, particularly because of bugs. It’s not a good setup. We decided to try turning the heat up pretty high while we were out of the unit, to try to dry everything out. The heat didn’t seem to work either, as the room never heated up, and nothing dried. We slept in a damp/wet bed. It was disgusting. We considered asking to switch rooms, but the damage had already been done. Our clothes were already damp/wet, and, since all of the units look to be pretty much the same, we figured their bathrooms are not equipped with exhaust fans either. I really didn’t want to write a negative review, so here’s why I did: When we checked out, my girlfriend reported the problem, but didn’t receive much of a worthwhile response. The lady at the front desk, who otherwise seemed nice, mentioned the fact that it’s humid in Florida, and said she’d tell “them” (the owner, I assume) about it. Yes, Florida is humid. No, that’s not why this happened. We’ve been there many times, but this situation was a first. People who live in Florida don’t maintain wet bedding and wet wardrobes. It’s not the humidity. We were expecting (or at least hoping) that we’d receive a phone call or an email — something to at least acknowledge the issue, and possibly make right on it. It’s been well over a week, and we’ve received nothing, so it appears that they don’t think it’s much of a problem. Maybe this will help prevent the same thing from happening to someone else who reads this. RESPONSE TO OWNER’S RESPONSE: Magdalena, Per your request, I did try to contact you. I called and spoke with Laura, who said that you couldn’t take the call because you were in a meeting. I gave her my name, phone number, and reason for calling, and asked her to have you return my call. That was a few days ago. I’m still waiting for your call. We did not leave the shower running. There were only two of us. We both took a normal shower each day. The style of shower head would have nothing to do with it. All modern shower heads in the United States are restricted to a maximum flow rate of 2.5 GPM or less, depending upon the state/municipality. I’ve seen at least two other reviews that alluded to the same problem. One mentioned damp/wet bedding. The other mentioned the floors always being wet. I went into greater detail, but I wouldn’t have written about it at all if I hadn’t seen from other reviews that it appears to be a reoccurring problem. Please feel free to contact me at any time. You should also have our contact info from our registration. Thanks."

"Meghan is excellent! She is very helpful, friendly, and welcoming both on the phone when I was planning my trip to the area when I was asking questions considering my hotel options and in person. The rooms are clean and comfortable and having the Tiki Bar there is nice and convenient. I will request a room street side next time to minimize the music being so loud which is expected when having a bar on premises. The location is great to experience the downtown and entertainment area of the city. I definitely will consider this hotel for future stays in Cape Coral."

"We enjoyed a short stay at the Dolphin Key Resort and were pleasantly surprised at how clean the room was. Bed was firm but comfortable to me, shower head was a little confusing to operate but not a big deal considering how clean the bathroom was. The room was hot and cold throughout the night. The pool and bar area looked cute, and Megan at the front desk was super sweet. We chose this spot over the holiday Inn Express and were happy we did. I would recommend and stay here again!"
