Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando - Maitland

"Did not have my room type with my preferences as a Diamond member available at check-in. They do not participate in the Hilton app mobile check-in option for guests to choose their room. They thought a 2 bed/2 bath Handicapped room for one person on the second floor (high floor preference) was an upgrade. Had to wait for the room type I booked to be cleaned. No business center for computer or printing access. A guest emailing you at the front desk to print for them is not an acceptable or secure option. The front desk lady at noon. On 1/19 argued with me and then argued about how she was not arguing. So disrespectful. Housekeeping knocked on doors and tried to enter for me and my colleague early in the morning well before check out and we had not notified anyone that we were checked out. Sure sign on a bad hotel."

"I’ve spent a lot of time at this hotel, many months in several different rooms and it has been very consistent. The front desk staff is very helpful and accommodating. The kitchen staff are especially great, always catering to the guests and welcoming them, wishing them a good day and keeping the food stocked up even in the presence of some unsavory guests. One thing I will say is that they need to update their grills. The grills are used very frequently and they are very outdated, old and not maintained. The grills are fed by stand alone propane tanks that are just not sufficient enough in heating the grills and are not sustainable. I have stayed at many Hilton hotels and resorts and they always have a dedicated gas line directly feeding their grills. Not sure why this isn’t the case for this location but this surely needs to be addressed. The maintenance guy is stretched so thin trying to maintain the propane tanks, he even went out and exchanged the tank at 11pm for us so we could do some late night grilling. Very thankful for this, but this is unacceptable for both parties. This needs to be fixed asap."

"What a wonderful location! Great breakfast choices. Good room layout. So why only 3 stars? Housekeeping needs to do a better job of preparing rooms for incoming guests. Having no shower gel or it not being replenished before we checked out the following morning was an issue. Also, it would be helpful if an additional fee like parking is disclosed in the booking process."

"Overall, a very old & worn feeling hotel. Convenient location for a one night stay in a 2 bedroom suite. My wife & I found the king-size bed to be miserable to sleep on. My mother felt her full size bed was comfortable but she was still numb from her anesthesia earlier that day. Good customer service. 1st time I have ever had to pay for overnight parking. Pet friendly."

"This place deserves a 15 everything was clean and everyone was friendly. Mary the supervisor at the front desk was outstanding. She went above and beyond when we continued to extend our stay. We were able to maintain the same room. We have two young children so that really meant a lot. What a lovely lady. We are talking about staying at this location again."
