"This review is in reference to one of the doctors on staff, Brandie Astudillo. I’m writing this review in hopes that no one else has to experience what I had to go through with this doctor. I was referred by my dermatologist (Siperstein Dermatology) to Brandie because of concerns we had about Lupus, and about two lumps, located on my neck and my chest. My dermatologist specifically stated that Brandie could do the ultrasounds and bloodwork required – a comprehensive panel plus ANA test. I even double checked with the dermatologist asking if she could write the scripts for these procedures instead, and she said it’d be appropriate for the PCP – Brandie – to do it and then she will look at the results afterwards. The dermatologist referred me to Brandie because she said a few of her nurses have had good experiences, so I took her word on it. My experience with Brandie was so bad that I left almost in tears. I explained to Brandie that I didn’t currently have a PCP but wanted to develop a new patient relationship with her. I also explained the three concerns my dermatologist said to follow up on: the lupus bloodwork, and ultrasounds for the two lumps. First, Brandie said that she could not order an ANA test on my bloodwork. This was very bizarre and when I asked why, she said the dermatologist should have done it, and that the dermatologist was wrong in directing me otherwise. Ok, I can try to understand that but… Then, I explained about the lumps. Brandie stated the dermatologist should have done the ultrasounds. At this point I’m wondering why, because I’ve never encountered a PCP who couldn’t order these procedures. But then, Brandie asked what I wanted her to look at. I replied, all three concerns – the lupus, and two lumps- and her exact words were: ‘I can only check one thing’. No explanation or anything. I expressed my confusion because I was specifically directed to her from my dermatologist on all three issues, and at this point, Brandie went on to say ‘I don’t even know your dermatologist, never heard of them or their nurses. I don’t know why she sent you here’. Just complete disregard for my concerns, making it absolutely clear she would perform the bare minimum service - if that even. I felt extremely uncomfortable by her confrontational nature at this point – not only did she make it clear she could care less what my concerns were, but she was extremely eager to burn whatever bridge there was between her and the dermatologist office, which was very concerning to me. At this point, I told her I’d call the dermatologist office to ask them for guidance. I asked if it was a waste of my time to have driven 1 hour to see her, at which point she replied yes, it was. I called my dermatologist, and they verified exactly what I was trying to tell Brandie. Brandie should have, without any difficulty at all, scheduled the ANA blood test and two ultrasounds. They said they never encountered a PCP giving so much push back. Someone like Brandie should not be a doctor. It’s clear she does not care about her patients or want to put an extra ounce of effort to try to diagnose serious concerns. I could understand if it was a specialty such as, a neurologist being asked for a cardiac concern. However, she is a PCP and all PCP doctors can order blood tests and ultrasounds especially if the patient has a concern. But beyond that, her completely confrontational nature and effort into NOT doing anything was extremely disturbing. Please, be your own patient advocate – DO NOT see this doctor."
"Just because they hang a fancy University sign on the door doesn't make this a better doctors office. First time patient, I was billed twice for a simple EKG (Dr putting the leads on & another Dr Reading it after I left) then I received 75,000 text messages and calls from what seemed like another country. Then came the harassing mail once a week and I sent to collections in less than 60 days. Guess what, I won't be going back here. Mostly an issue with the medical system it's all big business for them."
"I entered the appointment and was refused treatment ; I needed a doctor to prescribe me my medication, which includes psychiatric meds. They told me I had to go to Miami to see the psychiatrists associated with UM. However, I already had prior experience with a psychiatrist at UM, who had supplied me with an unrighteous amount of a medication that I expressed to her that I was addicted to. The nurse shrugged and told me that she couldn’t do anything so I left crying. She told me she was sorry, I told her that she should be."
"From the front desk staff,to the nurses and Dr.Brandie this is THE BEST DOCTORS OFFICE I’ve ever been to . My experience has been nothing but GREAT! The entire office is welcoming and friendly. I’ve never had an issue they are truly knowledgeable and kind ! I love all you guys and I’ll never leave as long as my insurance covers lol! Keep up the good work I really feel as if these people are my family . Thank you for making my doctors appointments a pleasure I’ve never been excited to go to the doctors office"
