"Had my first experience with the ER the other day, and I was not impressed at all! For a new facility with new technology, you'd think it would be top notch. It felt dated and low-tech. The waiting room is small, and there is no background noise or music (instrumentals at the least) or even a TV with something going on. You have to sit there and listen to people wretch and moan and groan in their illness and pain! The staff also kept parking the patients in wheel chairs in the isle ways so if ypy were sitting in the back row you were blocked in and either had to move the person or an empty chair to get out. I can't speak to the rest of the itself, but the Emergency Room Experience was sup par. Chairs in the waiting room were dirty, etc. The staff we encountered was great, and I understand they are busy, and I'm not the only patient. Anyway, I digress, but I would most likely go to another facility in a future emergency."
"First let me say that the ER nurses and Hayden McCoy were phenomenal. Unfortunately they’re stuck in a terrible environment. I’ve never gone to the ER, in 34 years. I had to last night because I was in such severe pain I was blacking out. I sat writhing on the ER waiting room floor for 6 hours before I was taken back. No pain relief, no concern at all for how bad off I was. Other people had been in there for over 8 hours, at least that’s what they were saying. I was asked multiple times what my pain level was. I said 10 and it still took 6 hours to get any relief. All in all I was there for 8 hours. Once I was brought back, Hayden was thorough and made sure I was taken care of. I just don’t feel like I should have been forced to wait 6 hours while I was legitimately curled up on the floor in the waiting room, pale and on the verge of blacking out from the pain. That’s unacceptable."
"New hospital: when I visited the 1st person I was confused about the parking and realized I had to park far and walk or valet. I chose to valet because I had a bad knee. Initially, I was impressed with the upgrades. The 2nd person I visited left me with a good impression (except the parking). Also, one of the older, tall, larger security guys at night acted like he couldn’t answer any of my questions and kept pointing at the other security for me to get help from him. 3rd person visit is the worst. In the ER, the nurse, tech or whatever was so lazy that they put blood in the regular trash can. I was in shock. Upstairs, we’ve asked for things and people keep saying they are going to do something or go get something and they aren’t doing it. Nutrition dropped the food off on the counter and walked out. The patient can not walk and get their own food. The food was also cold. The trash is also broken. The flashiness of the hospital does not fix the laziness of the workers and the bad parking. Don’t go to the hospital without someone there that can advocate for you. All they are doing is medical stuff. There is no personal care. It takes forever to make things happen."
"I had surgery in September 2023, loved my Dr., everyone else but the billing department. I received the denial letter from my insurance, we are talking about $40,000 +, I spent over 45 minutes the first time calling Baptist, they said call your insurance, I did, after 20-30 minutes with them we figured that they had sent wrong coding, I was online with her and called the billing at Baptist, that was 2 weeks ago, they said they fix it and resubmit, today with my condition that can hardly walk, I drove to Baptist , 1 person that runs that outfit was on lunch, could not wait , front desk gave me a card, called at 1:33 11/17/2023, not only I had to repeat myself 3-4 times, she could not find my file, however she was talking about me visiting Baptist back in 2006, I asked her kindly to let's find this file, finally she found the file and it was sitting there, nobody had looked at, asked her kindly to activate the file, she said they get to it when they get to it, very rude, then she hang up on me. The best of service with the surgeon and nurses should be wiped out by someone that can't pay attention to date and someone that easily ignores that it is my right to find out what happens to my bill, before it easily finds it's way to collection and ruin my credit, and had to repeat myself 3-4 time. She should be your investment goal number1 to replace or retrain! to take care of someone that spent with his insurance over $40k"
"I assumed being a NEW HOSPITAL that it would live up to the standards and beyond. How very wrong I was. Came into the emergency department with severe pressure in my chest. Had blood work and X-rays with dye. Everything looked clear in arteries. The doctor suggested I stay overnight. I chose to stay and they got me into a room within an hour. After that, it went down hill. Couldn't get my prescribed medication the entire 2 days of stay. Only ate one meal at dinner because I was supposed to have tests ran that requires no food or drinks. That went on for a day and a half. Doctor comes in this morning and says all my tests and lab results look good but I should stay and get the stress test that is ordered before noon. The whole time nothing to drink or eat and my meds that I'm needing to take still wasn't given to me or straightened out. Well the test I was supposed to have before noon ends up being 3pm and the nurse says she is going to call down their and see when I'm going. An hour later the nurse comes back in my room and says that the tests were never ordered and they don't do them on the weekends, so I'll have to stay and wait until Monday. The same day of all this, I was woken up by a nurse hanging a blood pressure cuff over my head and barely touching my face to wake me up and then after being woken up like that she then says she had to take my blood pressure. Tried one arm and got very low numbers, then tried the other and got low numbers. She went back to the original arm and got 106/47. I was feeling weak also. I thought she was finished because she was taking private cell phone calls and I'm listening to her argue with someone that she wasn't going to have them over her place because they are disrespectful and she wasn't going to put up with that. As I'm sitting their thinking of what I'm going thru and how she doesn't care about a patient enough to end the call. Then I'm woken back up by her tapping my side of face with the thermometer, telling me that she needs to take my temperature. Still on the cell phone. The whole time leaving the blood pressure cuff on my arm and walking out of room into another one while talking on her phone. Later, about 40 minutes I'm talking with I assumed was the head nurse and discussing my blood pressure. The female nurse rushes over and started explaining the issue with taking my blood pressure and how it was the cuff. Our conversation wasn't nothing about her but she felt guilty of how poorly she treated me, she thought I was complaining on her and she felt the need to come defend herself."
