Sonny's BBQ

"Thank you so much for taking care of us, Joy!!! Tonight myself, my sister, her husband, and her two girls came in for dinner at our favorite restaurant. It’s our favorite because our mom used to work at Sonny’s when we were little. I’m posting this to highlight an amazing waitress and person. Tonight we all encountered a kind, sweet and beautiful person. Joy was our waitress and we had such a fun and amazing dinner with her. Thank you for serving us and taking care of us and making us feel right at home. Our mom passed away couple years ago and coming into Sonny’s is one way we like to continue our memory of her. Thank you for reminding us tonight of her. Your smile and laid back personality made our night and the food was delicious."

"Heather was an adequate server but not very friendly. Seemed to not be very happy. Maybe just having a bad day. Food was great and came really fast. Love the brisket and mac and cheese. Chairs are tiny not too good for a grown man. Should teach the wait staff to smile and be more polite. Smiling servers get way better tips"

"We were traveling and decided to stop in Bartow Fl at Sonny’s. There was so much business that we knew the food would be fresh. My husband and I think it is the best Sonny’s we’ve ever eaten at. All the food we ordered was delicious and hot. The ladies taking the order were efficient and nice and accommodating to other customers also. We received our food in prompt timing-remember we waited just a little bit because of the overflow of business. Pleasant experience to two travelers."

"We were in town for a cheer competition and Sonny’s was the closest option. We walked into a nearly packed restaurant, but were seated quickly. Amber greeted our table within a few minutes and took our drink and app order. She returned promptly with our drinks and took our food order. She was very friendly and attentive to us even though she had several other tables. Our food came out quickly, correctly, and was enjoyable. I had the pulled pork and lean brisket. Husband had sliced pork, and daughter had the ribs. Everything was great. We were in and out in less than an hour. Definitely recommend this Sonny’s!"

"Lots of food for the cost. It’s pretty good. Lots of butter and definitely not low calorie. My girls got the kids macaroni and cheese with a sweet potato for one and green beans for the other. It comes with a giant piece of bread and a drink. They didn’t get their juice that was supposed to come with their meal (they wanted milk but I guess they ran out because the server said they didn’t have milk) but I didn’t complain since I don’t let them have much juice anyway. I got a grilled cheese and my husband got the ‘Big Deal’ which is a sandwich with some fries. He always gets garlic bread with his sandwich and loves it. They have 4 kinds of barbecue sauce on the table - smoking, sweet, spicy and original. My husband uses sweet and spicy together. We also tried some fried okra (we had a big party of 13 of us) that someone else had ordered. The food took a while but there were a bunch of people who came in before us while we were waiting for the rest of our party to get there. (They don’t sit your big party till almost everyone is there.) I am not a big fan of barbecue myself but my husband loves this place and my kids liked the macaroni and cheese (they didn’t like the green beans at all so they didn’t get eaten and we didn’t take them home."
