Tom's Chicken Shack

"I just happen to be in Bartow for a meeting and we passed by and decided to check this place out. I walked up to the door at about 7:15pm and doors were locked. The sign on door says it is open until 9 pm. Several workers inside but noone inside acknowledged me. Soooo, I went through the drive thru, where I saw a sign that said Drive thru starts at 8pm. Anyway, I still decided to patronize them because I'm all for small businesses. We got our food based on recommendation. We got the fried chicken and the gizzard dinner. The flavor of both the gizzard and chicken was great!!!! BUT they were cold, not warm....COLD...even the fries! I was so disappointed because the flavor of both were great. I'm sure this place is probably a local favorite but I may have caught them on a bad night."

"We spent almost $70 & ordered fish & fries, chicken sandwich meal, fish sandwich meal, Buffalo wings meal & chicken strip meal and everything was terrible. Plus we waited for over an hour after we were told it will be 10 mins to get our food but still try to give this place a chance but once we ate our food the fish got us feeling sick and the chicken was so dry & the fries taste like they were cook in reuse oil we could barely finish our meals and end up throwing it all away. Never again will we be back to this place. Wasted money & our time at this place."

"Drive thru ordered chicken nugget dinner. Got at work and had something else I did not know what it was. Drove back and walked in to get what I ordered and paid. The dude at the counter… and I call him dude because he is not a man or a gentleman. Nor knows about customer service or how to be polite or even respectful. Tells me I got what I ordered as soon as I stated what had happened. I corrected him 3 times to what he answered after he gave me the correct order that perhaps “someone” is in the wrong. Customers don’t just drive back if they get what they paid and ordered. This place is a waste of money and time. They are not reliable or trustworthy. And asking them to deliver will get you into a confrontation or argument. Do yourself a favor and go to a business where you are appreciated or at least treated normally with a bit of dignity."

"Fellow RVer’s on 17 South heading out of Bartow are you hungry? Local restaurant with excellent fish, chicken, shrimp, hush puppies, macaroni salad, potato salad, baked beans and more; good prices, carry out or eat in and don’t forget the sweet tea! We had 3 pc fish w/sides dinner, 2 pc chicken w/sides dinners and a large sweet tea for $26 come and get it!"
