"IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 0 (or negative) STARS, I WOULD! I read all of the reviews about things being in certain containers, specific hours that they buy, etc. so I figured that I would call to know everything I needed to know ahead of time. I spoke with someone who stated that things needed to be in clear containers or reusable bags and be sure that none of the bags were overflowing. I confirmed whether bringing my items in the brown Trader Joe’s bags was acceptable and she said yes and that the cutoff for buying was 3PM. Cool! I get there with 6 bags full of items just for some white girl (who might have been the manager - not sure) to say that there is a limit of only one container of items per person per day. Keep in mind that I called before to ask whether it was okay to bring everything in the brown paper bags, which is what I communicated to the lady. Her response, “well, did you ask whether there was a limit?”. I just walked out after that point. Why would I have to ask that when I called initially to ask whether the containers I was bringing were acceptable and specified that I’m bringing several bags. That’s something you are responsible for communicating to your customers. All in all, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE. I called the Sandy Springs location and drove there to sell my items with no issue. The girl even chuckled when I told her that this location had a limit per day."
"I understand working in the customer service industry can have it challenges, but the employees at this Plato’s closet provide terrible customer service. Every politely asked question is returned with an agitated and short response by the employee. When I was given a list of what they were willing to buy from me and what they were willing to pay, I politely asked to see the bin of clothes they weren’t buying so I could determine if it was worth it. The employee working snapped at me saying I would get that back at the end and did I want the money or not. I politely said no I didn’t think it was worth it and he proceeded to get annoyed. While he was getting together all the clothes I brought in to give back I noticed two new ralph Lauren button ups that looked strikingly similar to the ones I brought in. They were not with my other clothes and the employee did not mention them so I assumed they couldn’t be mine. I waited to get my box back before I checked to make sure they were mine, and in fact they were. I waited for the same employee to finis berating another customer that was asking him a question, then he looked at me and said “you good” and I said “I think those Ralph Lauren shirts are mine. He scoffed and said “okay? Take them” after I put them in my bin with the other clothes I brought in and went to leave the alarm went off at the door. I looked at the same employee as another employee yelled out “who’s stealing” they then laughed at me before I finally left. These employees were completely unprofessional and seem to get satisfaction out of embarrassing and berating customers. I hope in the future they can read some of the reviews about their less than adequate customer service and take it as constructive Criticism. This type of attitude doesn’t benefit anyone."
"Do not come here ever. Believe the reviews, this is the worst Plato’s I have ever been to after 2 visits and worst in Georgia / Atlanta area. Not only in a bad part of town, but the employees here are awful individuals which is probably why it’s such a horrible experience. The Athens location is a million times better. I encountered 3 abrasive and mean employees all in my 5 minutes in the store. I was yelled at by two horribly rude male employees for my clothes not being in a proper size bin at pickup, one at drop off because I didn’t accept their $11 for my brand new in the box Dolce Vita boots and a Zara sweater. Before this, while he was searching for my name and bin on the shelf, I saw it and pointed it out as another male employee blurted out across the counter in the busy store (despite his own customer) “not the clothes you sold the ones you’re picking up”, to his dismay I was correct and my attendant grabbed the bin I pointed out. There was no need for this man to insert himself and should’ve minded his business and own customer, even more so since I was correct. $11 is a joke and I’ve been offered much more at other locations, I have every right to decline an offer but he did not like that, he yelled at me across the store as I walked away. I told him there was no need to be so rude and left with my things. Do not come here, this location needs new kinder employees who can maybe recognize fashion for women such as Dolce Vita and Zara. Why are hostile middle aged men working in mid-20s women’s retail anyways?"
"I second the many reviews stating this location has horrible customer service. It also seems they only accept buys when they feel like it. I called ahead of time to confirm they were accepting buys before I wasted my time driving over there, only to show up and them tell me they weren’t accepting anymore because they were “short staffed”. Going to Plato’s isn’t worth the time as they don’t accept most items and anything they do accept they pay next to nothing. You’re better off donating to save your time."
"A lot of businesses are short staffed, that’s no reason to be rude. This location had the worst customer service, and the worst attitude, ever. The customer is not the enemy. UPDATE YOUR WEB SITE to include the days/times that you DO buy clothes, let people know that you don’t accept clothes from trash bags, (They’re just a means to carry the clothes), let people know it takes over 4 hours to evaluate a sale and perhaps thank your customers for coming in and keeping you in business. I’m giving one star because there is no option for zero stars. I will not be returning, to shop or sell."
