"Let me start this review by saying I've eaten at a lot of restaurants in Atlanta over the years, A LOT, & Poor Calvin's is hands down the best of the best! I can not stress enough how fantastic our first experience was at Poor Calvin's. From being greeted as soon as we walked into the 'thank yous' walking out the door after dinner, top tier experience. Our server, Ashley. Let's start with her. There are not enough stars to represent the service we received from Ashley. She was knowledgeable of the menu, offered great recommendations, & provided overall exceptional service. Ashley is the kind of server others should aspire to be. I ordered the lychee martini (DELICIOUS! So refreshing, sweet, & strong! I would have ordered more than 2 if I weren't driving), the Lemongrass Steamed Mussels (OUTSTANDING!!), & the Australian Lamb Chops (AMAZING & seasoned to perfection!). My dad ordered the Lobster Crawfish Wonton (he said they were very good) & the Oxtail Curry dish that was the special of the day. OMG! It was so delicious. I wish I'd ordered it for my entrée (I sampled some of his). I should have ordered an entrée of the Oxtail Curry to go. My aunt ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese & enjoyed it. She said it was the perfect balance of lobster & macaroni & cheese. My uncle ordered the Deviled Eggs with Crab (Bougie Deviled Eggs, as he called them) and the Lobster Fried Rice. He raved about both of his dishes. Every flavor paired magically together for everything we ate. We are planning to return next month & are hoping the oxtails are on the menu. If so, I can place my order now. Things to know: 1. As everyone else has said, parking is limited. Go early if possible! 2. Parties of 5 or more are put on one ticket. We learned that on our way to the restaurant. No issue but something to be mindful of if you have a large party."

"I wish I could’ve given Calvin himself a firm handshake. My mom and I were in the city for Hamilton at the Fox theatre, celebrating my acceptance to grad school and the host at our hotel recommended Poor Calvin’s to us. From beginning to end, we were given the most amazing service. Joy was an absolute joy (no pun intended, or maybe it is!) to have as our waitress. The food was on another level. I had the seafood curry and gosh was it so delectable and savory with just the right amount of spice. My mom and I have already have tickets to another fox production in June, and we will certainly visit Poor Calvin’s again!!!"

"I wasn’t sure what to think… but I will definitely be coming back when in Atlanta! We had the special as an appetizer (not pictured) and their yummy chicken and pork dumplings! Also not pictured :/ For the main dishes we had the lobster pad Thai and the lamb chops. Phenomenal- especially the lamb. The pad Thai is not traditional but is very very tasty. Linda was our server and she was incredibly knowledgeable on the menu and so pleasant to be with. 10/10 recommend"

"This was a birthday experience for me! The atmosphere has a great vibe! Our waiter Jojo was incredible! The few vegan options available were very enjoyable! I can always appreciate any restaurant that takes the time to curate dishes that tailor to all forms of dietary restrictions. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, with some adjustments of course, as well as, the Arugula Salad for our appetizers. For our main course, we ordered Vegan Curry and the Vegan Pad See Ew. We also had the privilege of meeting some amazing people sitting next to us from Maryland. I absolutely cannot leave out the phenomenal host of the night Griffin Collins III. His welcoming and customer service was superb! I cannot wait to return here for another dinner experience in the near future!"

"Stop what you are doing and make reservations NOW! This is a MUST visit restaurant if you are in Atlanta. The food is made to order and absolutely delicious! I have no complaints. The waiter was well versed in the dishes on the menu and was very helpful when it came to selecting an entree. I have a shellfish allergy and the waiter was able to guide me in selecting the safest items for me. The dumplings were marvelous! I ordered the crispy beef dish and my taste buds are still tingling from the thought of the delicious spices used to make this dish from heaven. The desserts were also out of this world!!!! I will be back!!!!!"
