"Wonderful location directly across from Prospect Park. The room was very large and very comfortable. The art work painted by Yon the owner is beautiful and he is so welcoming and sweet. He was very kind to us and we really enjoyed talking to him. Just a few minutes walk to the subway takes you right into Manhattan. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone wanting to stay in Brooklyn."

"Very nice and convenient apartment. Close by the subway. The owner was very polite and helpful and let us feel we’re are being at home. Do not expect a glamorous apartment! The apartment is old but clean an fully equipped. You have to make breakfast yourself. Supermarket is one blok away. Plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. The park is similar as Central Park."

"This place might not be for everyone, but as folks who used to live in Brooklyn, it was very welcoming and in a great neighborhood. Jan is a gem, he is a quirky artist to match this quirky place. We rented the second floor, king bed, private bathroom (not en suite), kitchen. It had everything we needed for how much time you’re actually going to be in your room in NY. We were two women traveling together and felt so safe. The size of the room is absurdly large for what you pay to stay in this classic brownstone."

"Attention young females. There’s a special touch about this house, from the art work to the way the towels were folded. However, upon arrival, we were greeted by Jan (pronounced Yan) who made us feel uncomfortable as two young professional females. When showing us around the house his body language was very close in proximity and domineering. The locks on the two front doors were dodgy, making it feel like a challenge to get in and out of the building. He didn’t answer any of our questions about what his name was or what he did for work. The sensor lights in the hall way went on and off all night. And finally, when showing us how to turn the gas oven on, he threw the match sticks across the room in an erratic way that left us feeling distressed. We relocated the next day due to this feeling. This is a very beautiful home, with amazing art work, drenched in morning sunlight. But something does not feel right here. The vibes were off."

"Our family (3 small kids) stayed on 3rd floor for 1 night for a wedding in Prospect park--such a nice location! The owner was VERY nice even when we showed up quite a bit after we thought we would. Having 3 LARGE rooms, a bathroom and small kitchen was fantastic, and the house was really neat, with amazing art done by the owner everywhere. We did have to block the stairway to keep our little ones from falling down, and the light in the morning got us up a little bit early, but otherwise it was great. We managed to find a parking spot Friday night right across the street, although on Sat it was packed. Sheets and towels were very clean, and I thought everything else was decently clean. There were AC units in the bedrooms to keep things cool."
